"La Sala is not a good restaurant, bad service, avoid. The Constant Grind is good for a quick breakfast. They will not do the room unless you let them know before 8am, so forget having the room done on your first day. By default, they only do it on the third day... For the almighty environmental God!!! Besides that, it is good overall. "

A basic response from receptionist re hot water, with no offer to compensate, left the hotel feeling unwelcomed and poor customer service For such a prestigious hotel, we expected a better experience. "Clean room and large but breakfast was absolute chaos. The space was far too small for the number of people that were there. You couldn’t move around without bumping into people or have them bump into you. I could sit without people hovering over me and the queue to go and get your own coffee was so long (as it was for the food) that I just gave up and went out for breakfast (effectively paying twice). Extremely poor breakfast experience despite the aesthetics being quite nice and at other times the communal space is very pleasant."

"Modern hotel with spacious rooms. Location is key if you are a tourist. The local tourist map has two walking routes and both are within 5 minutes of the hotel. There is a U station 100 metres in one direction and an S station 100 metres the other way. We put the car in the parking and did not take it out until we left. Parking not cheap – over €30 per night. We did not use the hotel restaurant as there are so many to choose from a short walk away. Minor niggle: it has the usual notice about saving water but they have installed sinks with a plug that does not close, so you have to leave the water running while shaving!"

"After a bumpy start at another hotel that was not wheelchair accessible, we checked in at the Hamburg Marriott Hotel. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They set us up with a nice and quiet room and provided parking right out front to ensure we could access our vehicle when we needed it. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but had drinks at the piano bar. It was very relaxing and the drinks were delicious. I highly recommend a stay at this location. It is walking (or wheelchair) distance to all the main things you want to see in the Hamburg city center. I will definitely book here first when we go back. "
