Baywatch Kingscote - Beachfront get-away

Baywatch Kingscote is a newly completed [January 2018] 6 star energy-efficient, 3 bedroom, self-contained holiday home, centrally located on the esplanade at Kingscote. Simply stroll across the road for easy beach access.

The property boasts a large outdoor deck with 180 degree water views which can also be enjoyed from the kitchen and living areas. Bedding configuration consists of two Queen bedrooms [one with ensuite with double shower heads] and a 3rd bedroom containing 2 single-sized bunk beds [sleeping 4] and a cot.

The kitchen has a 450 litre bottom-mount fridge/freezer, 900mm electric stove and gas cook top, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and kettle. There is a large TV with DVD player and DVD library, an 8 person dining table, highchair, and two large lounge suites complete the living area.

The laundry is equipped with both a washing machine and dryer. Detergents for handwashing, dishwasher and washing machine are supplied. Outside you have access to a clothes line, BBQ and fish-cleaning table.

Complimentary coffee, tea, sugar, bath/shower soap are also supplied.

Wi-Fi is available at the property.

With ample off-street parking and being close to all that Kingscote has to offer [pubs, restaurants, bakery, take-away food shops, chemist, Drakes Foodland, tidal swimming pool, local jetty and the famous pelican feeding] this is an ideal place to base your Kangaroo Island adventure from.

Great home away from home

We enjoyed our stay of 4 nights at Baywatch and we couldn't have asked for better accommodation. There was a lot of room for our family of four and the location was very convenient. Modern, clean and all the amenities you need for a relaxing holiday.

The home was lovely, clean and tidy with beautiful views, nice and quiet, short drive to town, shops, cafes etc. Great place to stay to explore Kangaroo Island.

Comfortable House overlooking water

Well equipped house with large open-plan living area which was very comfortable for a four-night stay. Would have liked a can-opener to be provided. Good quiet location but handy to town and easy to get out to sight-seeing places. However I question value for money for a couple.

Stunning Views, Simple but Lovely Property

Beautiful simple & clean property with a stunning view. It had everything we needed. We stayed during the dead of winter & it was really wet - we did find the house overall to be chilly - even with two reverse cycle heaters. Would definitely suggest some winter doonas. But otherwise, a lovely experience.

Nice accommodation to stay for our holiday with friends and handy location with a view of the water from the lounge and the deck and a nice walk into town. Owner was super helpful with locating and returning a forgotten item.

The view was amazing. Awesome view of sun rise just a few steps from the home. Was nice to have heaters as it was cold when we were there. Very spacious and comfortable with all the amenities needed.

GREAT GETAWAY

The property was very comfortable and in a great convenient location. It had everything that we needed. A nice chair or two on the deck would enhance the property. We took camping chairs therefore used these on the deck.The owner Andy was very helpful with any questions.

The house is located across the road from a beach. Beach ones for 5K there is also a path across the road which is part of the park run and is easy access to ocean pool. The main town is a 40 minute drive. But the local town is a 45 minute walk or three minute drive. The local town does not cater for shopping groceries or anything like that. We struggled to find even a restaurant that was opened but does have a delightful cafe but obviously only opened for lunch and breakfast so it’s advisable to purchase shopping at the IGA in the main town when you get off the ferry And complete all cooking in the house. House is perfectly set up for multiple people. One bedroom has queen bed another bedroom has a queen bed 3rd bedroom has two sets of bunks and a cot. There is also a rollaway bed included at the house. Multiple sets of cutlery and plates bowls etc. There were a few other things that were missing such as a CanOpener and soup ladle or something that could be used to scoop. The view from the front balcony is absolutely beautiful and is a lovely way to spend the morning having breakfast or the evening eating eating dinner. Their area is extremely quiet and very safe. The house hasn’t open plan design with lounge dining kitchen or facing the view. House also has a full laundry with washing machine dryer plus there is a clothesline out the back we enjoyed our stay here.

Creating Family Memories

This was our big family holiday with loads of planned activities. The property was the perfect location as a base, close to shops and far away enough to be private. It was calm and relaxing after busy days out and well appointed enough to stay in and chill. Lots of movie nights in. Beautiful views, great beds and showers, fantastic oven, great for big meals. Criticisms would be the walls are thin so you can hear each other, but we were so tired after big days adventuring that we all slept really well. There isn’t a garden or grassed area to hang out in, which is handy for kids and the porch only has a table and chairs so no space for outdoor relaxing. The windows open up so you do get the outside feel inside. Only a tiny thing and it didn’t impact our holiday. The beach across the road is lovely though and only a short walk. Overall - best family holiday ever.

The location and amenity of the property is great for a family vacation. We were disappointed with the uncomfortable master bed and the lack of basics such as cooking oil, dishwashing liquid and toilet paper (2 rolls for 5 people to stay 6 nights).

Great space with ocean views

This is a great holiday rental with well appointed kitchen, great views and even some streaming services to keep you entertained. The pictures on the site give a really honest representation of what your getting. Only negative was cleanliness, most of the house it's furniture and linens are kept in a good clean state however the floor left a lot to be desired. We took our shoes of on arrival to keep floors clean only to discover 20 minutes later our feet were black from walking on the floor. A good mop would fix the issue. Floors aside this is a good little property for a family holiday on kangaroo island. - Would recommend.

Perfect place to stay when on KI

This property was nice and clean and only about 2km from the main street of Kingscote. Very modern amenities, and everyone in out group was very comfortable. Will try to stay again when we visit KI.
