My boyfriend and I visited Eganridge at the end of April. It was the off season however it was so nice that they were open and the room was very clean and luxurious. The spa is beautiful and it was a very pleasant experience. Overall I highly rate this resort.

Great: location, quality of the maintenance facilities (except for docks), very nice and helpful Staff. We found breakfast service nice, but very very disorganized, and therefore unreasonably overpriced! The Restaurant needs to invest in a modern urban quality coffee maker, especially a proper espresso machine used these days in restaurants and coffee shops that charge this much for coffee in addition to the poor quality drip coffee maker that to some will suffice. The shift Manager needs to be more proactive in more efficient organization of the breakfast service. With very few tables taken, we waited for half an hour for very simple eggs dishes, and coff. In case the same Food & Beverage Manager is also responsible for the dinner, we decided not to risk, and not to overspend, and instead drove to an outside restaurant. This I consider very bad, especially if the Management of the Resort is not prepared to pay enough attention to the opportunity to improve the quality of breakfast service as it strongly discourages us from dinning at their restaurant, unless they make special announcement about improvements in the management of the food and beverage service, including breakfast service. Another strong weakness is the docks/marina area. In contrast to the rest of the facilities, Looks dilapidated and abandoned, certainly prohibitive for those who are looking for a decent, even if simple, docking experience with a boat. The docking does not seem easily accessible either.

The staff at reception were very friendly and welcoming. My terrace room was comfortable and nicely appointed. I enjoyed sitting on the patio taking in the serenity and appreciated the fireplace when the weather changed overnight. The bedding is a nice quality, as was the bathrobe. The dining room is lovely, ans is the choice of music, and my server, Adina was gracious and attentive, not hesitating to consult the chef with my questions. Adina gets high marks, as does the chef. My beef rib ragout was delicious. The only thing that wasn’t perfect was the toilet handle, which was loose and needed replacement, and what sounded like a vapour lock when I turned on the shower in the morning, presumably the room hadn’t been used in a while considering the season. The maintenance man seemed to take that seriously and said he’d look into it immediately. I was only there one night, but I’m sure those minor things were remedied. Otherwise, the toiletries were nice quality. They may want to consider putting bath foam to use in the jacuzzi, but even without it was very relaxing.

It was a quiet, serene place to stay. It was past golf season. Lovely walking community. Beautiful views and lake. All staff, except for the bartender, were delightful and informed and wanting to help. Great spa

The hotel room was not cleaned properly even asking for it to be redone. The carpet and sofa were old and stained, the sheets had holes, The pub deck needed weeding and more attention to garbage not picked up. Food was surprisingly good and staff very friendly.

It’s a nice quiet little resort. The people were great. The Stables restaurant was good, great Nachos, they had canoes and paddle boards for use. We didn’t get a chance to golf, they don’t rent out clubs. We didn’t get to try the dining as there was a wedding on. Seems a great place for a wedding.

The overwhelming first impression was that I was staying in The Overlook from The Shining. Admittedly, I was there in late March, so it's the off season. The hotel was undergoing major renovations so the hallways were filled with tools, materials, and the smells of varnish and sawdust. Breakfast isn't served until 8:30, so that's a non-starter for anyone needing to get to work. Food at dinner is "boil in a bag"--literally. It was edible but definitely not worth the price. Went to the bar once for "Happy Hour" --no one working there could tell me what the happy hour specials were. No housekeeping services done over my 4 day stay.

Unpretentious but comfortable and intimate. Staff are welcoming and attentive. Restaurant is relaxing with a ‘locally grown’ focus and a more than competent chef and kitchen staff. A real gem.

Our room was nice and met expectations. More temperature control of the room would have been better or to turn on a fan. We had to open our sliding door to cool the room more. We enjoyed playing the golf course. However we didn't have anything to do after golf. The website made reference to walking the grounds, but there is no map of the grounds. Only place we saw to walk was in the subdivision of homes. We are early risers as well, thus waiting until 8:30am for dining room to open for breakfast was inconvenient. Overall the food in the dining room was good, but too expensive .

Everything about this visit was too notch. Only thing to add would have been nice to have access to a driving range at the golf club. I had to drive 15min to another course to practice. Great experience, regardless.

Absolutely love it here. A true gem! My husband and I enjoyed the property and ourselves so much we will not only return here but also recommend it to everyone we know! Love the staff, the beautiful comfortable rooms, the lakefront and the accommodations as a whole. the food and food options are good but overpriced relative to quality. Would love to see more local food options incorporated!

Both my husband and I loved absolutely everything about this property! The rooms are well maintained, clean and super comfortable. The staff was amazing, super friendly and welcoming. We loved it so much we went back twice in one week! Only thing that I found disheartening was the lack of recycling. In 2022 there should be more recycling options readily available. Aside from that you bet we will return!

Booked this property as they state are pet friendly, for a fee of 25$. Called their reception right after the booking to confirm that we are bringing our dog. They said it’s confirmed, no problem. Afrer check out, they charged me 75$ for a dog they weren’t aware I was bringing. I had to pay for their unprofessional service. Beware!

We have visited this Resort in all seasons, we love the grounds and during summer the access to the lake! It is 10 mins drive to Fenelon Falls and Bobcayeon (additional shops and dining options). We are giving 4 instead of 5 stars because in both restaurants we found the service could be improved, food seemed to take a bit long to come out of the kitchen...

My wife and I booked a two night stay at Eganridge. Overall our stay was enjoyable. The resort is close to Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls - both pleasant and quaint towns to walk around and shop. We found the staff both pleasant and accommodating and we were treated like welcome guests. As nice as the facility is there were some issues with maintenance and upkeep. We had an issue with the AC not working and we were given another room when they checked and confirmed. The rooms are dated and in need of a facelift. The furniture (curtain rods, chairs, rugs, luggage caddies) really need to be replaced. The beds are comfortable and the jacuzzi was very nice. The pool deck has many cracked and wobbly paver stones and needs attention. The view and the grounds are lovely. Coffee on the patio outside our room overlooking the lake was very nice. We ate our meals at the restaurant and all were very good although I found the breakfast over priced however enjoyed eating in the nicely appointed historic old barn with wonderful lake or golf course views and a wonderful ambiance. There were a lot of new staff getting prepared for the summer rush and they all did their best to be professional and were very friendly under the mentoring of the veterans. Overall we enjoyed our stay but found the rooms were in need of updating and repair. The resort still shows it's historical and past beauty however looks a little tired and needs some attention to detail to bring that back.

Booker beware: this is a highly unpredictable property with volatile and confrontational manager, Jason. They seem out for short-term money without regard for long-term customer relationships. We had a horrible experience with the manager, Jason who I’m sure will prove my point in a response to this review. We were downgraded from a cottage to a regular room without notice on arrival (no advance notice) due to their pre-planned maintenance. Since we didn’t enjoy the regular room, we checked out a day early. The front desk did not inform us that we would be charged for our entire 2-day stay in a room we had not booked, and according to Jason it is not their responsibility to make sure you’re aware of this. We were then told that any changes or cancellations must be done with 7 days notice, or no refund. I messaged Jason with my concern and received a completely unprofessional and confrontational reply telling me I was in the wrong for violating their cancellation policy even though I was not given the opportunity to exercise my right to the 7-day cancellation policy due to their lack of communication. Again, buyer beware. You won’t know what you get until you get there and are out hundreds of dollars.

Hi Lindsay, We do our absolute best to communicate our cancellation and change policies / departure dates -- both through Expedia when booking, by email in advance of arrival, as well as when you check-in. With respect to maintenance, we had a maintenance issue with the particular cottage you booked 2 days before your stay. Given the extent of the repairs required for this, and the fact that we were scheduled to begin an overhaul of the cottage immediately after your stay, the decision was made to bring the two together. Given that we were not full and had what we felt were nicer accommodation options available, we made the decision to switch your room type in an attempt to provide a seamless experience. Had you raised concerns with the change of room type, we did have other larger cottages available, and certainly could have moved you to that. Instead, you decided to check out without giving us any opportunity to rectify your concerns, or even make us aware of them while something could have been done. It is for this reason that there would not be an exception to the policy that we clearly communicate.
