It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for. If u want a good stay, book this. Very nice, helpfull and friendly staff. Nice and Central location. For this price, very nice hotell. Good luck guys :)
