We booked the room with private onsen for three nights and that's so relaxing. The 9 course dinners (Japanese cuisine) (half board) were superb and have certainly exceeded our expectations in terms of quality and quantity. Breakfasts are different every morning too. The cost may be considered high but it's worth it. Not a lot of staff can speak English but should be able to get by. A fabulous traditional experience especially when you include half board and enjoy a Japanese dinner and breakfast. Everyone at the ryokan was very friendly and our group loved our stay.

Was worried about accessibility initially but the Nohi bus service dropped us off at bus stop H57, right in front of the Hotel. The hotel also provides return shuttle bus service to Shin Hotaka Ropeway. Otherwise, very comfortable stay with sumptuous Japanese dinner and breakfast prior to my departure.

Great experience, beautiful old building and incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Perfectly located on Nakamachi-dori and close to all attractions, including Matsumoto Castle, and plenty of amazing food nearby. A memorable and unique, but all too brief stay, definitely one of the hilights of my time in Matsumoto.

Clean, spacious, close to train station. Free drink at happy hour and late free supper were a bonus. Very nice hotel. Firm bed.

The dinner and breakast were excellent traditional meals. The private outdoor onsen a great experience. The futon was hard and the rooms slightly shabby.

My new favourite hotel in Matsumoto. Beautiful Japanese style rooms, gorgeous public baths which are tattoo friendly (if covered by plaster given out at reception), beautiful decor, free ice creams, yokult, close to station, would stay here again!

The staff were amazing. From check in to the bags being taken to the room everything was so friendly and helpful.
