Amazing place
Perfect location. Airport shuttle service, though not free,is convenient. The owners are an amazing couple who treated us like family. Excellent with our kids. Would even hold the baby while we ate the excellent free breakfast. Very clean. The staff will jump through hoops for you. We chose to stay a second time when transiting through Istanbul on our return trip from further east. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful stay ...very happy guests!
We had the most wonderful stay. Adem and Amina were fantastic hosts. They were so accommodating with our requests and nothing was too much trouble for them. Amina is a fabulous cook btw....our breakfasts were fresh and delicious. The accommodation was clean and because the price was so reasonable,exactly what we expected. The position of this hotel is so central and in such a lovely old part of Istanbul ,that has a proper neighborhood feel to it. We will DEFINATELY go back there and will recommend it to family and friends.

Great price and rare for 5 in one room with kids. Was nice having them all together and comfortable. Breakfast on the roof was wonderful with omelette and all one could need for a great meal. Service was kind and exactly and requested. Location was incredible. A block to The Square and main mosques. Highly recommended.

Very central, clean friendly hotel
Very helpful staff, our room was clean but tiny. Not much bigger than the bed. No shower door so wet bathroom. Great view from the rooftop restaurant at breakfast. Hotel is very central and close to all the main tourist sights.

Pleasant hotel in excellent area
This is a small hotel ,slightly dated with small rooms . But the room was only used for sleeping in and it was comfortable. There was a good choice on the breakfast buffet. The staff were friendly and very helpful. It is situated in a very good area in Sultanahmet. Minutes away from all the major sites and yards away from numerous restaurants.

Very small rooms, wrong type of room
After being upgraded to one of their better rooms - which was very nice - we were forced to move because it was a double bed - it was assumed we would prefer a double to a twin. So we had to move back to a standard room which was very pokey. No room to move. The hot water was out of action for over forty eight hours. very poor - information was not volunteered about this and no solution suggested. Breakfast was fine, continental style (bread/cheese/salad - if you like that kind of thing) Good selection of drinks etc and lovely views on the terrace.

Nice hotel, fabulous location
We stayed for 2 weeks, Front staff is amazing, so nice and so helpful!!! Couldn't ask for more. Tea and coffee available at all times and nice little bistro tables set up out front of the hotel also so you can people watch!!! Breakfast is terrific, lots of hot and cold selections and is on the rooftop so a nice view also!!!! Lots of hot water and good shower pressure!! Rooms are small but it Europe!!! so that is to be expected. We stayed in 203 which faces the street but street noise is minimal!!! and the windows open so it's nice to get some fresh air and look outside. Air conditioning worked great and so did the heat. It is literally a 10 minute walk from everywhere, the blue mosque, the bazaar, the hippodrome, Hagia Sofia, Topikia palace, tons of restaurants and little markets (sort of 7-11's)

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
First time in Istanbul, was worried about getting a good location. The location is fantastic, we were able to walk easily to all major attractions, crime problem. The roof top view at breakfast is ten times better than the photo. Staff arranged for us to get to the airport for an early flight, leaving at 2:30 AM.Room was small, but very clean. We will book again whenever we return.

Amazing staff, excellent location
Each and every member of staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help every single time we asked for anything. The Location was brilliant and the views from the terrace were amazing, blue mosque on one side and the sea on the other. Buffet breakfast was of a high standard too. I would stay at Aslan hotel every time I go to Istanbul.

Aslan Hotel is located in the heart of Sultanahmet near all major must sees including the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia. Restaurants, bars, tourist busses and the tram are within a short walk. The hotel offers daily breakfast and wifi. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Upon first impression the room appears small however, as we were out sightseeing from morning to night it was sufficient. This hotel is centrally located.

Arrived very late but they were there waiting for us so that was good, The request for an extra third person in the room hadn't been received so lucky they had a spare room. We were hoping to share the room with our daughter but had to pay for the extra room. The rooms were very small so an extra bed wouldn't have fit in.

Nice Place to live
I have finished my visit 1 day before (4th May 2015). Hotel staff was very cooperative,friendly specially Guy on the reception Mart , he is always ready to help.Location is very close to some areas where all tourists would be interested to visit Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofya, Tapkopi Palace and Metro station. (All on walking distance. Breakfast is very nice, served on top of building with nice Bhosphorus view. Room which was given to me was very small for a couple but in short I will highly recommend as its economical, plus location is very good.

Excellent position but small and dark.
The position was excellent, the staff pleasant, the breakfast room was lovely and the food very acceptable. Unfortunately the room we were in was on the ground floor and the only window opened into a storeroom so the room was quite dark and dowdy. Friends on an upper level had a nice outlook and the room had a better layout to give them more space. Neither rooms had a shower screen or curtain which meant wet floors every day.

Not what I expected
We were disappointed in the staff particularly the owner who apparently knows nothing about Istanbul or setting up tours, repairing problems, or even how to open the safe in the room. We picked a small local hotel thinking that they would be more knowledgeable of the tours and sights that we should see, but the owner was working the desk for the first two days and didn't know anything. He kept telling us to wait until the other guy got there later in the day and he would take care of helping us, but after the first day we went ahead and booked our tours from a local agency. There are many of those everywhere around this location. When the other guy did get there, he was very helpful and even printed our boarding passes when we left. Also, many of the places to tour are within a ten minute walk and you can just walk up and buy a ticket, but the lines are usually long but they move rapidly.

Not as good as most of the reviews say...
Maybe just like the rest of the country, there are friendly people around to distract you so you can forget about the too many problems around. The hotel is well-located, a few minutes from the Blue Mosque/Hagia Sofia and yet it is in a quiet street. It is too close to the main mosques and when it is prayer time the noise coming from the speakers is really loud. The room was small. The radiator on the wall was not powerful enough to keep the room warm and the air con/heater on the wall blew so much dust that I had to leave it switched off. The bed was not comfortable and the linen was not clean. The duvet seemed dirty as well. It was a good thing having a fridge in the room. Although the drinks provided were very over priced, I could keep my own drinks chilled. Bathroom - dirty. Stains on the walls, dust everywhere. Staff - very friendly, polite and attentive. Internet - it wouldn't work on my floor. It worked on the floor above, breakfast room (terrace) and in the lobby. I mentioned it to the reception staff and I was told that the boss had known about it for a while but nothing was done. I had my own Istanbul guide book but needed to access the internet from my phone to find out about places to eat, weather forecast and communicate with my family. I had to spend a few minutes every day in the lobby doing all that. Breakfast - substantial but limited. I would rather pay twice as much and stay in a decent place next time.

Best place to stay near the Haggia Sophia
The place is very nice it's a good 5 minute walk to the Haggia Sophia and Blue mosque. It is close to a lot of restaurants and hotels. The place is small, only 12-15 rooms and it is well kept and clean. The breakfast is good! I would recommend staying here. They are also close to tourist agencies which offer day tours and a shuttle to the airport for 5 Euros.

Great location in Sultanahmet!
The room was nicely sized, had a fridge and a/c which didn't make the room chilly like I like but did cool off the room. The breakfast was very nice on the rooftop terrace, though eggs were extra. The view from our room was a stone wall but it was on a nice quiet street. Just down the street was restaurant row, every kind of restaurant with guys outside begging you to come in. Topkapi palace, aya Sophia and the blue mosque were all within 5 minutes walk. Also a nice little Bazaar called the Arasta bazaar.i would recommend this place and stay there again. The rooftop terrace had a nice view of the water

Good place . Arrived early morning and the second bedroom was not ready. The additional bed in the second bedroom was not available so had to pay extra for a separate room. Electric sockets in the room non-existent . Unable to charge phones or laptop. The location is great. Lots of food out lets in the surrounding area.

Good budget option in excellent location
Lovely staff who made me feel very welcome. The hotel is in a great location - three minutes' walk from the Blue Mosque! Breakfast was good. As a single woman I felt very safe. I was 'upgraded' from a twin to a double, but the room had no natural light and was permanently dark. The sheets were also a rather scratchy fabric. Nonetheless the room was scrupulously clean. I would recommend it, but would ask for a room with sunlight!

First time in Istanbul - hotel was a good choice
I was in a quandary whether to choose one of these small hotels in the old city, or to choose a nice modern one a bit further out. In the end, I plumped for the location and Hotel Aslan had a lot of good reviews. We found it just as many other people did. Friendly, helpful staff. Small but clean rooms. Lovely views from the roof terrace (but that tree in front of the Blue Mosque will have to go!). We met Mr Aslan when we arrived, and when he found it was my birthday he asked the man on reception to move us to a suite. Unfortunately, there wasn't one available but we were moved when one became free after two days. In actual fact, our first room (206) was absolutely fine. It was quiet and comfortable although it must be admitted that the décor in the superior room was better, and it was bigger too. I would certainly recommend this hotel, but do be aware of what you are letting yourself in for. The location - maybe 100yds from the Blue Mosque is fantastic. Despite this, the street it's in is quiet. There are lots of restaurants nearby (we would recommend the Cistern Bar and Brasserie) and plenty of tourist shops too - as well as the Arasta Bazaar. The downside would be the small rooms and limited facilities - so if you plan on spending a lot of time in your hotel, look elsewhere. If you want a quiet, friendly hotel in the heart of everything touristy, you won't be disappointed.

Ideal for Istanbul's attractions
Nice hotel, close to many of Istanbul's attractions. 5 minutes walk from Blue Mosque, St Sophia and Sultan's palace, and handy to tram lines which take you to anywhere else. Room small but for the price that's not a problem.

Walk to all Old City sights
Not difficult to find; a friendly and helpful receptionist; fairly quiet, considering the central location; an excellent breakfast in the roof terrace; lots of places to eat nearby; mattress on the bed rather too firm; room too warm and no means of turning on the air conditioning; useful to have a spare bed to leave cases on, as nowhere else to store them; good collection of toiletries; towels replaced every day; tea and instant coffee ad lib at reception; plenty of information held at the desk; we were able to check ourselves onto Turkish Airlines the day before we left, which was very useful; we would consider staying here again if we return to Istanbul.

Very nice small hotel
I liked the place, The people who work there are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Neighborhood is exciting and very safe, full of shops and restaurants. Only two blocks from Sultanhamet Square puts you in the center of everything. If travelling with large suitcases, be sure to get a deluxe room or suite as it is hard to manage suitcases in the standard rooms. We enjoyed our 5 night stay.
