"We had a wonderful stay. The house is so beautiful. It was very clean and had everything one would need. Location is perfect - safe area and close to the Joshua Tree National Park and town. We wished we had more than one day in the area just to enjoy the house! The host was very helpful. All in all, a great experience - I would not think twice about booking. "

"This was a special trip for me and my two girls. After a long struggle with Long Covid, my older daughter is finally doing much better, and we wanted to celebrate.Joshua Tree Retreat was a wonderful place to escape to. The three‑bedroom home, filled with unique artwork, books, and colorful walls, felt truly special—definitely not your everyday VRBO. Dale’s stories about the history behind the artwork and books made exploring them even more meaningful. The numerous outdoor sitting areas, the hot tub, and the unbelievably beautiful pool offered peaceful places to relax and spend time together. Even working outdoors felt like a reprieve. And how refreshing to stay in a VRBO with a well‑stocked kitchen and quality cookware.The retreat is a short distance from both the North and West entrances to the park, making it easy to explore early and late in the day to avoid the heat. The Barker Dam and Hidden Valley hikes are great for everyone, but for me, seeing my daughter able to enjoy them again was incredibly gratifying. A sunset stroll inside the nearby park boundary—something Dale can give directions for—was also wonderful.Dale was kind enough to extend a late checkout for us, which allowed us to enjoy the morning, soak our feet in the pool, and then transition easily to meeting family later in the day in Palm Springs. We truly appreciated his understanding and the extra care."

"Could be much cleaner. Missing lots of basic items (kitchen towels, broken coffee pot, no kitchen sponge, no toaster, missing baking pans). For what you charge was not happy."

"This place is perfect for 2 people! it’s 2 minutes from the park entrance, has a great view, and the jacuzzi and fire pit are perfect for stargazing. We loved our stay, will definitely be coming back soon!"

"This place inside was nice but there was dead bugs around the walls on the floor and left over trash underneath the couches. Seems like the cleaners failed to clean! Not only the floors were dirty but no paper towels or toilet paper or even trash bags were left. We had to buy our own toiletries which is not great for the amount of money we paid for this place. Too top it off we couldn’t even enjoy the pool or jacuzzi because we had to pay extra even though we had to buy extra toiletries. I don’t think we will ever stay at this place again. I will be asking for a refund because the place was dirty inside. "

"Lovely cabin surrounded by gorgeous cactus gardens, privacy, and beautiful desert oasis views. The cabin had everything we needed, was in a perfect location, was quiet, and was perfectly clean and comfortable. I loved how it was decorated too. Susan was great in her responses to our questions about the area. I would highly recommend this VRBO. "
