Brilliant budget Apartments. Have stayed several times and is perfect for beach, local amenities and transport links. Remember the price you pay and you will not find better value on this beautiful island.

The entire hotel is old n outdated. The Tv is old, the curtains and bed skirt is black n filthy. The room n bathroom should b cleaned daily not twice in 8 days. 3 calls were made for towels. Hidden fees, no AC in d living room. Twin beds stuck together for a full bed with 2 twin sheets. Not good for a married couple.the reception was very mannerly

For the bargain price they offer apartments at, this place is great. The staff are friendly and welcoming, helped out with extra cooking equipment when we requested it and generaly made us feel very welcome. The location is good, about a 5 minute level walk from the shops, beach and bars. The facilities in the rooms are ample with good air-con in the bedrooms. Just don't expect to be able to knock up more than a quick slap up meal in the kitchen though. I would happily stay again or recommend this place to friends. Perfect if your doing the caribbean on a budget. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Good budget property makes staying on west coast affordable. Place is showing its age and could use some touch ups. Its seemed clean. Staff was friendly, but had to ask three times for new towels before we got them. Its approx a 5 min walk to town/restraunts and 10 to the beach. The sister hotel is around the corner and after check out you can store your stuff and have access to pool and bar and change/shower room. You have to pay extra for a safe key and wifi, but overall...would stay here again.

We stayed here the night before our cruise ship set sail & it was about what we expected. We were not looking for a 5 star but an inexpensive stay. This property has great potential but needs some TLC as it seems older & run down but the gardens were pretty and our grandchildren enjoyed the swimming pool. The staff was very friendly & accommodating. We walked to a local supermarket to buy breakfast food & also to a beautiful beach. We also walked to the local bus stop & took the city bus to the cruise port ($2.00/person) & the driver very willingly accommodated our luggage.

The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating- and I want to note that I checked in on Christmas Day. I really appreciated their friendly demeanor and answering my many questions. WiFi was service was a bit inconsistent but the staff was willing to troubleshoot. The housekeeping service was not what I expected (the housekeeper came late a few times) but I tipped daily. Also I thought we would get clean towels and bedding at least every other day but that didn’t happen. Kitchen facilities were functional and clean. Enjoyed the balcony view and the pool as well as close access to the grocery store, beach, and public transportation. Overall, I recommend this property and would definitely consider staying here again.

Very cute from the outside. Bedroom and bathroom ok but kitchen area and tv area terrible. Ancient appliances and furnature...sagging couch, reeking of pine sol when we arrived and the floor was coated with a very slippery coat of pine sol which we had to ask them to remove because it wasn't safe to walk on. Won't be back.

We stayed here off season - September is the quietest month in Barbados - so the room was very cheap considering its great location. Check in staff (based at their sister hotel, Travellers Palm) are great, very friendly and accommodating, which can be rare in Barbados. The rooms are a great size as all have a small kitchenette and living room in addition to balcony/patio, bedroom and bathroom. No kettle however. Floors and surfaces clean, but towels were stained, as were bedsheets. They appeared clean but old and worn. Pool is fine, small but quite clean, and again, sunloungers are old and worn. But location is great, in Sunset Crest, close to amenities and main West Coast road.But for the cost considering size and location, still a good option. Sister hotel (Travellers Palm) is one block to over from Halcyon Palm, certainly seems nicer, so if cost is the same, I'd recommend giving there a go.

Like The staff was very friendly. Pool area was very nice and confortable Nice neighborhood Very close to the beach Dislike: I did not like that I paid for wifi but the service was very bad I had to log on every 10 minutes The toilet was not clean and the water from the shower was running to the toilet and sink You can make calls from the landline, but you cannot receive calls.

Not bad for bare basics
There was no Wifi and the hotel is actually a bit of a walk from the main road. Also - having to pick up your keys from the main reception rather than the hotel itself is a bit of a pain as its around a 10 minute walk, but overall the facilities were fine and it goes give you the bare minimum required!

Very disappointing stay
I have just returned from Barbados, having to attend a relatives funeral. so had to book my accommodation in a rush I have stayed at Halcyon Palm a few years ago and must admit was happy. but on this occasion i was so disappointed the furniture in the room and balcony was so dirty. I flew in from London on a 8hr flight and the receptionist gave me my keys and a remote for the air conditioner and told my my hotel was down the road and my room was an upstairs, as I have been here before I new this was quite a walk with a heavy case so I had to ask for some help. on getting to the room I noticed there was no catering equipment eg Kettle, Toaster, Microwave, pots pans etc. I then try to call reception and got no reply. So I had to walk back over to the reception where I spoke to the night security who walked back to the apartment with me and he managed to to get me a kettle and toaster. Like is said I was only going to be there for 6 days so I could attend the funeral. The room was not cleaned or attempted to be cleaned until the day before I was due to leave. I had a call from reception at 7.30am in the morning to tell me they did not have a spare set of keys for my room and this is why it had not been cleaned - I asked her if there was a problem why didn't she ring before or leave a note under my door? - she had no response. I made it clear that this was unacceptable - on checking out the following morning the receptionist did apologies again - but this was too late

Halcyon Palm is a set of 25 self catering One Bedroom apartments, the reception is located at our sister property Travellers Palm, where there is also a small restaurant. We do not pre stock apartments as we offer very affordable accommodations. We do however offer a welcome pack service and would have been happy to provide this in advance of your stay , if requested. The tap water in Barbados is completely safe to drink. There is also a convenience store within a few minutes walk from the property, which is open during the day. It is always recommended, when booking a self catering holiday , especially if arriving late at night, to pre plan your food requirements and we would have been more than happy to assist with this in advance of your arrival if we had been requested.

Halcyon Palms is nothing like what is promoted on the Website. Nowhere near the Beach (even taxi drivers were unable to find it, postcode takes you to different address near the Beach) Reception is nowhere near the accommodation. Room was clean ish but dated. Halcyon Palm is 30 mins walk from town centre shops, nightlife/bars and beach. No lighting when walking back at night.

We are sorry the taxi driver had problems finding the resort, postcodes are not used in Barbados as they are in the US or the UK to locate properties via GPS in the same way, we would have gladly provided directions but most taxi drivers would know where Travellers Palm is. It is stated clearly that you must check in to the reception at our sister property Travellers Palm as there is no reception at Halcyon Palm. The property is a close walking distance to the shops, banks and a convenience store of Sunset Crest, not a 30 minute walk . The beach is less than a 10 minute walk away from the property. The centre of Holetown is a little further north to us but is not a 30 minute walk. We are in a residential area and do not control the street lighting in the neighbourhood but there are street lights, however they generally are not as strong or bright as you may be used to in other countries.

Peace and happiness at the Halcyon in Hole Town
There were a few issues. 1. Finding Main Reception at other location in the dark requires better well lit signage. 2. Electrical equipment and lights should be tested to make sure it works before new guests arrive. 3. A kettle for boiling water would have been helpful, instead of using a saucepan on the stove. Apart from this, the Halcyon Palm apartments are wonderful and in a lovely quiet location. They are only 10 mins from a wonderful beach. Also, a good supermarket is in Hole Town which is within walking distance and plenty of restaurants alongside the beach.

Well when I first arrived around 7pm the receptionist was running out the door said she was done for the day and left the security to check us in, he took us to a room which was supposed to be for 3 but wasn't, the sofa was disgusting as we entered the door, the tiles on the floor were dingy, the kitchen needs upgrading very old fashioned and it's appliances as well, the refrigerator was mildewed when you open the door, the bedroom had two beds no place for a third person and the curtains inside the bedroom were all broken down, we were extremely disappointed, I felt like we were overnighting in a cheap motel. I called the security who we didn't know was security until he told us, we thought he was one of the staff told him I don't like the apartment, he called the receptionist, she told him she can't do anything for us now because it is late that we would have to stay there until morning. Next day we were moved to another apartment in the travelers resort it was better than the one we had, it turned out the service sucked, even though we put the sign outside the door for room service, when we got back there we didn't get any, the room was the same and we had to ask for towels. When I told the receptionist about it, she said they were short of staff

Rooms good but fridge did not work add 100 US dollars for internet and a safe key for a 10 night stay . Did not use pool as had electric light dangerously hanging by a wire in cloudy water staff were pleasant good quiet location within walking distance are bus stops restaurants and a beach bar you get what you pay for would stay again

I arrived at about 8 pm. Check in is at a sister property, which the app didn't say it was. When I arrived the security guard says the office is closed and could not give me a wifi code. The number on the key didn't match the numbers above the doors so I had to call the office again. There was no kettle and the kitchen had very basic utensils . The AC remote did not work so I froze all night

Rooms need updating and a deep clean necessary.; but hasn't put us off revisting in the future. Pool right outside our room which was perfect for our 6yr old. Ask the taxi driver to wait for you when you check in as there is a little walk to the apartments.

A great place to set base. It covered everything I needed in a holiday. A nice swimming pool within the complex if you didn't want to go to the beach, also each apartment had its own balcony under shade for those really hot days. Shops & cafes within easy walking distance

Nice looking apt ... Nice ends there. Barbados is hot! No a/c in living quarters and where 1 person would sleep on pull out couch. A/c in bedroom was just ok. Have to pay for wifi which only works if you are sitting on one side of bed .. Have to wait 1/2 hr for wifi to reset if you need to have a different devise connected, (only 2 wifi lines per room). Also tv had really bad reception but who cares.. Too hot to watch it In the living room!

You get what you pay for.
Thankfully I only had to stay here for two days. Everything in the apartment is old, out dated & rusty. The wifi works fine at the check in location but does not pick up at all in the actual rooms. The beds were crappy. They only provide one pillow. One towel - no wash cloths.

Very enjoyable stay
I found the hotel in a good location and the room was very clean. The staff were extremely helpful and were more than happy to go the extra mile to make sure you were happy. The hotel is very good value for money. Don't expect sandy lane, but for a budget holiday its a very good.

After booking the apartment online, it would have been helpful if I was informed that I would have to check in at the sister hotel which was about 250 meters away before going to my apartment. However the receptionist made up for this as she was extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment is in a residential area set in beautiful and private surroundings and with pool facilities. Basic accommodation but clean. Good value for money. However the drawbacks included a leak in the shower cubicle which made it annoying when stepping out, WiFi that broke down, lack of cutlery and tableware, limited parking spaces.

When checking out the clerk made a very personal remark saying I looked local. I was born and raised in London. With the amount of locals coming and going I don't see why she would have to say that. Otherwise, I had a reasonable. affordable stay. I read the reviews before I booked and I was expecting the condition to be a lot worse. The room sizes are good, I appreciated the air conditioning in the bedroom but could do with higher fan settings in the kitchen/lounge. I stayed 9 nights and had two single beds. The bed linen was not changed so halfway through I slept on the second bed. There was no mat in the bathroom so I had to take the unclean mat from the bedroom. The local stay-cation people were very rowdy, they had a party in their apartment and stayed in the pool after 10 pm when the hours are 7 am to 7 pm. The first lot left litter and a pair of shoes by the pool after they checked out. They stayed 2 days and then another lot arrived. No security patrol. I may stay at Travellers Palm next time because that is where the bar, restaurant and reception are but it is an extra ten minutes walk to reach anywhere. There are two ways to get to the main road, the one that is closer to the supermarket is very long and not well lit at night.

This is second stay in Holetown and our first to this hotel. The property is quite satisfactory and there is a refreshing pool. The biggest draw back is that the hotel office is in another hotel complex and you MUST walk 3-4 blocks between this hotel and the office. (our phone does not work, the roof leaks, housekeeping seems to be available only upon request) However, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, if the price is right we would probably return. The staff are friendly and accommodating.

Don't expect the Ritz as it was far from that. However, if you want value for money it's just the ticket. The staff were very polite and really quick to sort out any problems. Don't be too critical.....it's somewhere to sleep while you enjoy Barbados. Thank you

In need of some serious attention.
Whilst the staff generally were helpful so much needed attention at this property. Managed to change rooms but the facilities and cleanliness of the rooms were substandard. The office where you pick the keys up is difficult to find and selling water when there was a burst main in the area is simply unforgivable. Internet and safe key should be included in the cost. Swimming pool was cloudy so not sure what was in the water! Awaiting a response from the management on all my concerns.

Good location
The place is very nice there are 24 apts the one we rented was facing the pool. The cleanliness wasnt good at all. The floor was dirty the bathroom the walls. I baught cleaning stuff and cleaned it myself. But you are close to everything like the mall the beach by walking distance and at the same time the area is very quiet. St james us a very nice place to visit.
