- Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
We arrived and were greeted by smiling staff and piano player at a grand piano in the lobby While staff prepared for our check in we enjoyed afternoon tea. Our room was exactly as pictured - a quirky set up with the bathtub in the sitting area and shower outside on the balcony - love it. Special feature the toilet, with its heated seat and wash. Very comfortable bed. Love the layout for the amenities: small l-shaped pool and deck on the lower roof level and sky bar on the upper roof level; there was also a sauna on the upper level with a glass wall, all overlooking the city scape. Like other boutique hotels it is long and narrow sandwiched between other old unrenovated buildings; look out the back of the building over assorted correlated roofs, slightly dilapidated, original structures, the homes and businesses of city dwellers. This hotel seems to be in the heart of the hustle and bustle of a city that comes to life at night: red light district, bar after bar, plenty of coffee shops but not as many restaurants. The nearby main street has high end retailers, streets lined with bright lights. This city is cleaner, streets/sidewalks are less broken, fewer motorcycles, no Tuk Tuks, a few rickshaws, a very young crowd - than Cambodia.
