"It was our first time in Cancun, we were meeting with the grandparents there for Christmas. Conveniently located, very close to the bus stop and a beach access. If you’re traveling on a budget, Casa Clarita is a great place to stay. Apartment was older, but we loved the interior design. Our host Narda was excellent, always very prompt with communication. "This apartment was a beautiful place to stay. I love the private patio area and that it was ocean view. I didn’t like that the water pressure to the shower was very low, it was barely dripping so that was really frustrating having to use the shower in the unit. I would also recommend that since there were no room cleaning they should at least have access to a washer and dryer so you can have clean sheets and towels throughout your stay. "

Hotel Riu Palace Peninsula - All Inclusive

"This hotel had probably one of the best buffets we’ve ever had at an all-inclusive. They kept the property extremely clean with the exception of the poolside hamburger hut. I wish we wouldn’t have seen that on our first day, but the rest of the property made up for it! There’s only a small beach area and most of the shoreline along this part of Cancun is rather rocky. All in all, this Riu Palace met our expectations!"

"Best if used as a hotel instead of a "resort". The staff were generally fantastic but the facility shows its age. The breakfast buffet was terrible and very overpriced. Grab a pastry from the market and head into town for lunch. Alcohol was very very expensive if bought outside a meal plan. Some of our bills rivaled LA or Vegas mid high level restaurants, but food was not on par. Spot meals at the sports bar were decent however. "

"Room was average (closer to a 3-star, garden view), but housekeeping was good. The resort claims to be all-inclusive, but there’s a noticeable class system in many areas, which takes away from the experience. Staff were a mix—some very kind, but overall service didn’t feel truly all-inclusive. Expect frequent and aggressive pitches for expensive long-term memberships. Nightly entertainment felt repetitive. Food was especially disappointing for vegetarians, and we even encountered rancid ingredients once at “She” restaurant. Pool seating is also heavily tiered, which felt unusual compared to other resorts. Overall, not the all-inclusive experience we expected."

"Overall, the hotel was nice but we most likely will not book again. There were not much activities on schedule, they can transport you to their sister resort for the parties but return window was not friendly. I don’t like the idea of having to be stuck somewhere for hours at a time. The elite club was a joke, we were better off booking the regular rooms, the very few perks offered were not worth the cost. Food overall was good for an all inclusive, no real complaints there. The elite club breakfast and room service menu was boring and subpar. We were better off eating at the buffet for breakfast and lunch, There was a strong sewage smell in the main lobby/bar area that was seemed to linger for the entire 6 days we were there. You see what the vision was for the resort, it just fell short…"

"Let me start with the check in line, it was horrible. We waited in line for about an hr, and im not exaggerating. I payed through expedia for a ocen view room. I had the pool view with a sliver of ocen view, they said as long as you can see the ocean, its ocean view. Staff told me if i wanted ocean view i would have to pay for a ocean front room. After i pleaded my case the manager did put me at 50% ocean view. The rooms, pool and building was clean and the staff was nice. The gym is very limited, but i was glad they had dumbells and a bench. We only had the breakfast package and the food was good. Checkout was fast. Just make sure you choose ocean front if you wana see the full ocean view. "
