"This hotel was next level. From the amazing, friendly staff to the Hilton level amenities and standards.
We were greeted in fluent English by super friendly staff to what seemed like a very empty resort. We believe it only seemed empty due to renovations to the second tower. We booked a private onsen for your family at the front desk and went to our beautiful room. The buffet dinner was fantastic and to follow the breakfast buffet was equally amazing. Best hotel we have stayed at so far on our...

"Fantastic place to stay in Takayama. Great location and the hotel staff go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The hotel is in great shape as well and the onsen on the top floor with an outside option was nice."

"Good location, excellent value breakfast. Whilst parking is first come first served there was lots reserved. As with most modern hotels the lifts are a bottleneck and no clearly signposted stairs as an alternative."

Hugely welcoming when you arrive. The staff are lovely and the hotel is spotless. We had breakfast (Japanese both days) and a dinner here, which was all superb. The hot bath is really well set up too. Hotel is between the station and old town, so a perfect location.

Fantastic luxury hotel. Stayed in a twin room which was huge with comfortable beds and good bathroom. Room was quiet. The amenities were first class with gym, swimming pool, hot bath, free bicycles, daily bottled water and 20% off dining voucher for the hotel restaurant on each day we stayed. Breakfast was great with lots of variety and good quality, could get busy early. Hotel is in an excellent location for castle and cormorant fishing but less so for shopping. Parking was easy and cheap and...

The traditional accommodation, the friendly attentive staff. We loved it all..the kaiseki dinner, the Japanese style western breakfast and the views around the ryokan were stunning.

We stayed for two nights and the traditional room was very comfortable. On the first night we booked in for dinner and it was worth every Yen...absolutely delicious. Probably the best food we've had in our 2 weeks in Japan.
The ryokan is close to the folk village, although we didn't visit.
The courtesy bus is a nice touch because it is a 15 or 20 minute walk from the train station.
Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel really is very close to Takayama Station and I am very happy that we got allocated a room on the top floor! We stayed in the Grand Twin Room. The room was so roomy! We also had a nice view. And it was very nice to hear the 5pm chime again. We forgot what that was about. The hotel staff explained that it is played to remind people to go home. How nice. And I read that it is also a way to test the town's disaster warning system. As for the buffet breakfast, it has a Bed & Breakfast feel...

Good hotel for very short stays. Close to station and also to the street full of bars and restaurants. Good value with a simple but good breakfast and free coffee from 2pm which is much appreciated!

As per the reviews in Japanese - make no mistake, this is a love hotel. However given the lucrative price this might be acceptable to some, considering the below positives and negatives of this hotel in particular
Postives:
- Huge, well-appointed room (massive TV, Bose sound, tons of toiletries)
- Bigger bathrooms than you would get in a 5 star hotel
- Free, unlimited car parking
- Free, fast (50mbps) WiFi
- 900yen in-room all-you-can-drink alcohol for 3 hours, for TWO people!
Negatives:
- All...
