"If you like to walk there are many good places to eat nearby. The only draw back is that the town has only 2 taxis so it might be best to rent a car. Loved the restaurant Hachiya within walking distance. He only takes reservations. "

"Very nice stay at hotel. I am on a full week motorcycle trip in Japan mountains and this was a great stop. After 8 hours in saddle the onsen was perfect. Food was excellent, breakfast really stood out. The dining area was really nice and with a view. Hotel is clean and although not very crowded, staff was attentive and helpful. I do not speak japanease but that was not an issue. Parking plentiful, wifi was good. Great stop in area of Japan Inhad not been too."

"I'm very happy I chose Onyado Yui no Sho. I got more than I expected. I loved the kaiseki dinner and their set breakfast.
I was surprised at how spacious the room was. Their service was excellent, and the amenities were great. "

"This was the best place we stayed in Japan! The property is beautiful and the staff very friendly, but the best part is the meals. The chef is amazing! Dinner was the best meal I have ever had, and breakfast was amazing, too. Everything we had was so delicious. The shuttle makes it easy to visit Shirakawa-go. I highly recommend staying here!"

"Wonderful property. Beautiful traditional Japanese home with a gorgeous estate featuring a koi pond. The best host in Japan!! If you are in this area, you should stay here!!! A much different experience than the city. Our favorite stop so far!"

"Hotel is not within walkable distance from takayama city centre. But fine if you have your own car. Size of my room is comparable to any Japanese business hotel - APA, Super and you name it. But amenities are available. Onsen is available. Afterall, good for value."
