"Absolutely wonderful experience! We arrived late and were unable to contact the ryokan to let them know. We were feeling down because we thought we had missed the traditional dinner. But when we arrived, the ladies of the inn quickly got us checked in and had the kitchen prepare dinner right before it closed. And the traditional Japanese dinner was amazing! I cannot say how much I appreciate the thoughtful service. "

"The rooms were comfortable, the staff is courteous. They go above and beyond to ensure your comfort. Every time we left and came back they would bring a new little snack to our room. they also put you in a yukata with a big bow when you first arrive. They have delicious sake and herbal tea available in the lobby. The onsen is beautiful. The breakfast is beautiful and like art. Great place to stay. We stayed 2 nights as a couple "

"Modern and high tech hotel which is very walkable to everywhere in the town. Using QR code from photo to get into the room is neat. Check out time is earlier at 10am but that's all fine. We're happy with the stay."

"The hotel was beautiful, the free private furo was clean and quiet. But more than anything, the staff were very generous and helpful; we couldn’t find a taxi, and the kind woman at the front desk didn’t hesitate to take us with her own private car! It was shocking and heartwarming. We wanted to pay her but she refused to take any money. Just a kind beautiful soul and a beautiful place. Thank you! "

"Hotel located very close to the train, convenient for dining, and a short distance to local sights. Room was clean, fit for purpose and comfortable, a quality breakfast was prepared and served as well. "

"This family-run guesthouse is a good half-hour walk from the train station, although there are buses every hour from 9:00 to 18:00 (6:00pm) that stop at the bottom of the hill. The establishment can sometimes pick you up or drop you off. The shared toilets and bathing facilities are clean and separated by gender, but the tired slippers at the entrance don’t seem like a very hygienic alternative to one’s own shoes… maybe we were spoiled by staying in too many business and apartment hotels and...

"A great, family run, traditional Japanese inn. The people that run it are great. Very helpful, very good atmosphere and a caring staff. My family and I really enjoyed it. Clean, comfortable and right near a nice walking trail too. "

"Great new hotel in Takayama, very walkable from the Takayama train station. The rooms were very clean and the staff were among the friendliest to english speaking guests we have ever encountered in Japan. The publc bath has seperate traditional areas and a clothed mixed area, again very clean and amazing view from the top floor. Other reviews mention the sensor light being an issue in the room but it only goes off if you are standing at the front door to exit the room, was never able to set it off going to the restroom."
"Everything is good as always be. Since we arrived the front is very polite and helpful. The room is spacious with kitchen and washing machine+cube. The bed is comfy. "
