Marriott should really ask themselves if this is up to scratch. We visited as there were laundry facilities for guests. This is not correct. They have the put it in the plastic bag and wait an extra day at a large cost for them to bring your laundry back. They blamed Expedia for the stuff up. No one wants to spend nights in this area unless they really have to. On a busy noisy road opposite a servo and car yards. Asked for dining options we were directed to a sandwich shop 2 blocks away. Back to the hotel where a can of mussels and potato crisps turned out to an expensive tapas experience.
Great location for transport and city travel. Can walk to city (up to 30 mins) but taxi is cheap @ euro 8. Town easily walked in one day, so not much else to do after that unless you like sitting all day on the beach.
This property changed ownership from an AC to BB, and the place is bare service, is totally unfriendly to persons with disabilities and those who are not in top physical condition, definitely understaffed, the kitchen services is terrible, Definitely a place that we do nor recommend or that we will visit again.
The hotel was very nice, very clean and the reservation desk was very helpful. The one girl working the restaurant was very nice and very hard working. The menu was no great shakes and when we got our food it was a disappointment. We didn’t want to drive into town for a meal. When your hotels are not in town, they need to have good restaurants.
We needed a stopping off point on the way to Santiago de Compostela after visiting the Altamira Caves. The hotel provided a safe, clean and easily accessible place to stay. Also, our car was tucked away safely in their underground parkade, for a small fee. Good value for this hotel.
Stayed one night. Modern hotel situated outside the town but well placed to visit. Local sidreria recommended by hotel was excellent. Breakfast buffet was very good. Would stay again.
We had five days in Gijon and saw most of the surrounding area, as well as competing in the World Duathlon Championships in Aviles. A great trip to Asturias!

One Night Stay
Hotel is very lovely. Clean, comfortable and well appointed. We only stayed for a night passing through, so not sure about the location but we managed to find a parking spot in front of the hotel so first time on our trip we parked for free in a large city :)
I had a bad experience because when I bought the plan the app said: "All rooms with buffet breakfast included" but when I got to the hotel the staff told me that it hadn't breakfast at all and that I should contact Expedia, so I did but they didn't get responsible for THEIR MISTAKE and I had nothing to breakfast that day.
Also, the hotel is far from the center but in a nice area, you can get there by bus and in 15 min you can go to the center.
Decent hotel if you don't mind being far from city
Location is a little far from city center. Rooms were comfortable. I didn't like the green bathrooms though. Hotel restaurant was not very good and under staffed. Breakfast was okay, but not great. I would probably stay somewhere else next time.
Great! The hotel was easy to find and suited our needs of a stop off point on the long journey from England to Ibiza. It was comfortable after a twenty-four ferry crossing. It is a confortable twenty minute walk into the city where there were plent of places to eat.
good hotel - high quality, very convenient for the ferry port. One other review we read made us laugh (!) but we weren't disturbed at all during our stay here and will be using the hotel again
Taking the ferry home from Spain. This was perfectly places for the night before. Clean, comfortable, modern. The rooms were reasonably spacious. The only slight negative was no TV channel in English. We tend to like it for the news. Highly recommended.
Having read some negative reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. But this turned out to be a very good hotel. Very comfortable, modern and clean. I would say that it is not geared up for the British e.g. no English speaking channel on the TV but that is probably because until very recently, no ferries came to Gijon from the UK. Staff were great and I would recommend this hotel.
Good for a stopover on a long journey from Santander or Bilbao ports to Galicia. Location avoids having to negotiate the chaotic centre of Gijon, but there's no soul to the local area.

Nice and convenient hotel
Nice and updated rooms, great view, next to the rail station, good size bathtub, recommended 100%. I wish it had a pool, but it has a Turkish sauna. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I missed the breakfast time but they were kind enough to bring a tray with food to my room.

Great fitness center!
The room is very clean. The bathroom is great!
I recommend the fitness center in the floor -1.
Great value!
Hotel easy to find. Parking easy and free. Receptionist not at desk when we arrived so we had to wait. Our assigned room stank of drains. We were given another room on the same floor which also stank. So we were given a room on another floor which finally was acceptable. The Gym was ok but unsupervised. The claimed "Turkish Bath" was just a steam room. We did not eat at this hotel as there did not seem to be anything on offer. Downtown (harbour side) Gijon is good for dining but a 20 mins drive away. This hotel is supposed to be "by Marriott" but is no where near Marriott standard. Even for the claimed "we provide 4 pillows" there were only 3!!

Not the best
The hotel is in a random location, with (not so) beautiful views of a gas station & garage forecourt.
Our room had a stale smell, and water damage around the window. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet, there is a free mini bar with soft drinks only.
There is no free wi-fi and breakfast is quite expensive. Overall, I am certain there are better hotels for the money in Gijon.
