Hotel La Colina

Hotel La Colina

10/10 Excellent
"Old traditional style quiet hotel. 1 hour walk to San Lorenzo beach, but others much closer. Ideal for cycling and walking. Uber app works with local taxi and uber. The staff are predominantly Spanish speaking, however a small effort and they try as did we. The night staff member was lovely. Free breakfast in the Cafeteria, and good Spanish cuisine. Local restaurants from 5-15 minute walk. If you come out the front and and walk away from the hotel along the cliff there is a beach and bar, restaurant 35 mins away, go the other way and you will find yourself in the town. If you want to be in the middle of town, then try somewhere else however if you want a fantastic lovely experience with great staff, comfy bed then stay here. Also parking is free. I have to say the entire area for novices is properly Spanish, but hola, for favour, gracias and some google translate is more than enough to find the welcoming local staff and people (who want to help). Finally if eating try the Fabada and the other local cuisine it is great, add to the famous Sidre! We will be back, think that is it, but really happy 5* review."

"Old cute hotel that is quaint. Staff was helpful and even provided us with eclipse glasses to watch the solar eclipse. Hotel is old so windows don’t insulate sound well. Floors are rickety and it’s easy to hear people in the hallway. Otherwise, beds were good and decent. Price was high likely due to solar eclipse frenzy."
