Convenient location with lots of option for dining. Finding a parking space can be a bit challenging. Very friendly and helpful reception staff but the housekeeper need to be a little bit more detailed when cleaning. Very spacious and clean room.

Terrible experience

The room smells, and bed frames has bending noises. First day towels was normal, 2nd day towels was terrible condition and smells. In room no hand washing and hair dryer provided. TV channel was limited. Not recommended.

There are urine stings on the toilet plate of the room and electricity stoppage happened on one day's morning. Yet, polite staffs and daily room cleaning service compensate those poor experience.

The property is very well located with lots of food outlets around. All over the facilities are OK. The mattress was worn out at one side and killed my back. Otherwise the room was fine. Upon arrival and on first evening we had to experience the one staff that was arrogantly friendly, slow and not helpful. The 'why do you bother me' attitude. All other staff was excellent. So sad! One person spoils all.

房間大，可以24小時checkin，但房間有大曱甴

凌晨1:30到酒店，好快已經做完checkin手續，房間幾大，環境唔錯，但毛巾好舊，訓醒見到有隻大曱甴係入廁所位半死不生，已經好驚，打電話落酒店cs，好快有職員上黎幫我夾走隻大曱甴，不過一有曱甴係酒店房已經係唔合格。8am幾左右，旁邊幢大樓裝修鑽地拆牆，總之好嘈，如果酒店通知我，一定會另揀酒店，唔去住

Mysigt hotell i George Town

Vi fick en tvårumslägenhet på andra våningen i ett av hotellets hörn som ligger längs med huvudleden. Dock så var rummet väl ljuddämpat och vi stördes inte av ljud. Det jag kan anmärka på är att badrummet inte hadde någon fläkt eller ventilation så det blev väldigt fuktigt när man duschade även om man öppnade fönstret. Då duschkabinen inte var helt tätt vid dörren så blev det väldigt blött på golvet om man inte var försiktig när man duschade. Hade också gärna önskat ett större kylskåp. Området ligger ca 15min från Komtar bussterminal där du kan ta bussen till alla möjliga ställen på ön. Det ligger även en del affärer och matställen längs med gatan utanför hotellet.

Best rate, good room for family trip

Not sure why still feeling cold after off all the aircon. Maybe the centralise aircon problem or how. Overall the stay is satisfied. It will be good if the hotel prepare slipper for the room.

We had such a lovely experience staying at Macalister hotel from check in to our departure. The hotel was clean and minimalist that I had wanted and expected. A lot of local foods stands/courts around as well as being close by the street art (10 mins walking for me). Worth the stay :). Big thanks to the both check in and out FD agents!

Convenient, Chic and Affordable

If you are looking for a strategic, clean, chic yet affordable hotel in the centre of Georgetown, I personally feel that this newly operated Macalister Hotel by PHC is by far a great option. Walking distance to several foodcourts with good food, the famous Lorong Selamat Char Kuey Teow, Jiao Sai mamak and more; you’ll be able to fulfil your food cravings without the hassle to drive and finding for carpark. There’s a coffee cafe, convenient store and Watson within the hotel so you can get your coffee fix, snacks and toiletries with just few steps. The room is spacious and clean while bed is big and comfy. The only downside is that the TV has limited channels. Overall is a good place to stay and will definitely return again when we travel to Penang.

Disappointed with the max 2 keys policy

Max 2 keys were given during checked in while we have 4 people and were in the 2 bedroom suite room. Asked for more from the front desk and we’re told it’s the policy every room only can have 2 keys. Kinda disappointed with the front desk service.

A Pretty Heritage looking Hotel

Love the stay at this new hotel, the modern decor with clean cut lines. Room is spacious, and well laid out, clean and come with lots of pillows! Great location and surrounded by lots of good eateries, but yet sheltered from the busy main road of Jalan Macalister. Easy to walk around to explore nearby areas of interest (provided it doesn't pour), and street parking is easily available around the hotel. We will certainly be back, and highly recommended 😉
