The €10 parking is very limited to like 4 cars and other parking is ridiculous! Shower looks like something from a toy store and DOES NOT work! The “king size bed” is two lumpy twins put together! This is a 2 or 1 star hotel. NOTHING more!

Dear sir we regret that your stay was not pleasant. Regarding the parking we have only 5 places , we can not be responsible if Genoa is a city with few parking places and for the fact that all the public parking are for a fee. We can complain the municipality. If you let us know your name or the number of your room we could more easily check the shower and the bed. Best regards.

Needed a last minute room, not too far from the train station. This was clean, quiet and convenient. They held my bags prior to checkout and staff was professional

Nice big room and bathroom. Quiet surrounding, good firm bed. Decent breakfast with sweet and savory selection. Free parking was great since I had rental car. Location is good, felt safe and residential yet walkable to old port and sights, supermarket and restaurants.

Great location, breakfast good, friendly staff
Great location for the centre and friendly staff make this a great base for Genoa if only staying a day or two. The hotel does need a bit of attention as the posh showers didn’t work and were cracked and the bed was feeling old but for us they were minor problems as we could park (although small area so arrive early!) and walk to town. Would recommend

located centrally in a quiet neighborhood. helpful staff. parking space is limited, but we managed to grab a slot. room is spacious but a bit outdated. the breakfast was basic.

Friendly, helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Comfortable, spacious room. Good value. Good location near center of Genoa but on a relatively quiet street. Would definitely stay there again. Parking available but not guaranteed. Negatives: erratic WiFi, no English or French TV stations that I could find.

Good location
People in Genoa very friendly. Food was incredible tasted. Taken the trains to go to the Liguria villages which are amazing of Beaty and food, like Portofino and Chavari. We had a great time there.

Charming & Lovely Stay
Great hotel with very helpful staff. Local area was limited for things to do but only a short walk from the town centre full of shops, restaurants and beautiful scenery. Great stay!!

Actor Hotel is situated very centrally in Genoa about 5-10 minutes walk from De Ferrari Square, room was good size with nice and clean bedding and fresh towels. Good breakfast.

Great Stay
Hotel actor was great. The service was awesome and hotel was well maintained. Showers are a little like a spaceship so bathrooms could be upgraded but nothing wrong with them. Location was great as we were there for a juventus soccer game so it was close to the stadium.

Cozy hotel, nice location; parking is scarce a bit
Better to come without car; if you anyway have to come with car, be prepared that you'll have to block another car and handle your car keys to reception.

Dissapointing 3* Hotel Actor in Genoa
PROS: The gentleman at the front desk was super accommodating and always served with a smile. The breakfast had warm and cold selections in a nice warm environment. CONS:The accommodations were more like a 2* USA hotel standards like a MOTEL 8/Howard Johnson. The shower had dirty edges and the beds were European twin standards which is tinier than USA twin standard. SO I would not rate it as a 3 * hotel. The parking is a 30x30' square and it is first come first serve queued up so need to leave keys with front desk.

Ok hotel to walk to old town
Parking limited. Wifi speed depends on which room you are in. Mouldy shower. Shower looks super fancy but the digital panel didn't work ! The water wasn't hot enough and the water pressure was too low :( Staff super friendly and helpful. 10min walk to old town which was like a rabbit warren, ended up walking through the red light district by accident.

I came, I stayed, I left
After reading the reviews, but needing wifi and free onsite parking, I was glad that I booked only 1 night. The hotel is situated against the side of one of the numerous hills of Genoa. The hotel is difficult to find by car, as it is in a narrow, very busy one-way street. Although verified the day before by telephone, the 'free parking' was for 2 rows of 3 cars (thus only for 6 cars!), or public non-existent, never available parking in the narrow street. When you are parked behind a guest that wants to leave, you are called to move our car. The entrance to the hotel is on the side of the building, down a flight of stairs. I was given a room ons level. The windows couldn't open, as they were at the same level as the ground outside, giving you the feeling of a basement type room. The street is extremely noisy with cars and scooters zooming down it, right next to your window, until late at night, and again early morning. All conversations in the reception area can be heard, as well as telephones. Late the night some of the staff had a visitor, abd they sat chatting in a sewing area off the reception. Even their voices could be heard clearly. There is a coffee/cupocino maker and microwave in reception, but guests are not allowed to operate it. You have to ask a staff member to push the botton.... Breakfast is VERY basic...but you won't leave hungry.

Nice hotel, relatively close to train station
Comfortable facility, adequate breakfast. We spent 3 nights in Genoa and were able to walk to the downtown/seaport area from hotel without difficulty- though the climb back at night was more challenging (Genoa is very hilly) after a full day of sightseeing "below."

Sadly, I have to give a bad review
The hotel is in a good location, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, the room was great - big, clean, working AC... Normally, this easily deserves a great review. However, there is a huge noise issue with this hotel. There was a loud banging noise heard 95% of the time (yes, all night too) making sleeping near impossible. We would turn up the AC on high so that its humming would drown out the banging noise. It was like you had construction going on in the room next to you and the room above you. The noise is heard throughout the entire hotel - lobby, breakfast room, hallways etc. The nice gentleman at the front desk tried to explain that the hotel is built on some sort of tunnel or something and that's where the noise comes from. Very unfortunate but the quality of sleep plays a major part of your stay in any hotel so I must say that I need to warn other people considering this hotel to be prepared for sleepless nights unless they bring earplugs.

We are very sorry about the inconvenience you suffer during your stay at Actor Hotel. The reason of the noise you heard is not the fact that the hotel has been built on a gallery, maybe my collegue didnt explain very well. The noise it was due to work in progress for a new tunnel of the railroad starting from the Brignole Station. This work began in july and finished this week. Best regards.

Disappointing
While hotel is located in a very good area for tourists, everything else was really disappointing. Poor breakfast, bad WiFi service, lack of necessary things in the room (no laundry and ironing service for example) and quite noisy- made our stay a little annoying.

Regarding laundry and ironing service we apologize but these services are not usually available in a 3 star hotel and our little family run hotel unfortunately is not an exception. Do yourself a favour and don't stay here.!!!
New owners have recently taken over this hotel and with this a considerable list of problems. This was freely acknowledged by the owners. As I was booking into the hotel I was told wifi was not working and had not been working for several weeks (not a good time to tell me this info given it was clearly stated that it was available on the booking web site)and they had not got around to doing anything about it yet.!! The bathroom was large but not clean there was mould an mildew all over the shower cubicle. There was no working heating in the bedroom and it was like an ice chest in there (heating available in the bathroom). We were going to stay two nights but could not take the cold room or lack of working wifi so we left after 1 night. When I spoke to the owners about a refund they said that would be ok and just to contact my booking agency. This did not happen because the owners would not agree to a refund. Breakfast was very basic and unsatisfactory for a 3 star establishment - breads and buns were stale, very limited choice of meats and cheese, no toaster, no fruit available. Hotel has potential to be a very good family run establishment, but needs to lift its game, and quickly before too many negative reviews kill it off.

Fabulous stay at Hotel Actor, Genoa
My family stayed here for 7 days at beginning of August and it was a most comfortable experience. The staff were friendly, helpful and keen to assist wherever possible. The hotel was very clean, and cool to escape the heat of the city. The family room we stayed in was larger than most we have stayed in, very clean and so comfortable. The maid attended at least once a day, to change towels and make the beds. The bathroom was lovely and the room was also air conditioned. The location was about a 15 minute walk to the Porto Antico area and a 10 minute walk to the centre. Location was great. I recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again on out next visit.

A comfortable hotel well located in Genoa
This is a small, comfortable hotel in walking distance of most of the main sights in Genoa. The room was fine, and the bathroom was larger than usual in Italian older hotels. Breakfast (included in the room cost) was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The neighborhood was attractive, with a pleasant outdoor cafe nearby. The weather during our stay was exceptionally hot, and the room's air conditioning did a good job of making it comfortable. Our only complaints were things that can happen in any hotel--a shower that did not drain well and a toilet that did not flush completely. We would happily return here.

Nice Hotel in City Centre
When I visited Genoa it was in the middle of a particularly rainy period and many tourists were staying away. I found the hotel to be located very conveniently for the city centre and its main attractions. I was actually the only person staying the in hotel it was that quiet in the city. The hotel staff, in particular Brian, were very helpful. The room was very comfortable and quiet and I slept well. There is limited on site parking and parking in the neighbourhood is restricted to residents only. I have stayed in the city three times and I would definitely consider Hotel Actor for my next trip.
