Room was a bit dated as only some of the rooms had been renovated as of May 2026. However, the room was reasonably spacious by Japanese standards and was quite comfortable. Beautiful and grand lobby. Location of the hotel was fantastic with a metro entrance and a Family Mart less than a minute away. The famous yatais unique to Fukuoka were also not far away.

Hotel was very conveniently located right beside a subway station. It was also a 15 min walk away from other areas of interest such as Tenjin, Canal City, and a small seafood market. There are also two grocery stores less than a five min walk away, a Family Mart, and a 7-11. The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. Although the hotel is older, it is very well maintained. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. I would stay here again!

Having stayed at the New Otani in Osaka recently I must admit I was disappointed by most things at the New Otani, Hakata. I booked at the Otani Hakata based on my wonderful experience at Osaka. No assistance from Concierge staff to unload bags just a rush to get the car out of the way. Check in staff polite, however the additional parking cost not well explained resulting in surprise additional charge on check out. Room large and clean but stuffy and a bit musty. Pillows left a lot to be desired. Coin operated laundry excellent! Again on checking out no assistance from Concierge staff with managing luggage. Had a meal at the Cafe, food was great and service impeccable.

First time at this hotel and probably will not stay here again. It is far from the station and the hotel was old. Needs renovation and the bathrooms were small. Free breakfast that was okay. Skipped it on the last day. Liked the fresh food market nearby.
