Located in a rather central part of Noronha, albeit down a steep cobbled laneway, we found the beautiful Pousada do Vale (it’s right next to the taxi station so you never have to wait long for a ride. They offered 20% off our first night’s meal plus a free drink each which we gladly took advantage of, and the friendly Thiago and Carlos looked after us well for breakfasts and dinners.
Points to note about this hotel;
DO check out the fruit garden, if you’re not from Brazil there are many fruits from there that you may not have seen before.
Take insect repellent. The mosquitoes on Noronha will eat you alive
Note when booking the room that unlike any other hotel I’ve stayed at in the world, this place works by guest not by room. So if you’ve booked a Superior room for ONE guest you’ll need to pay substantially extra for the second guest.
The shower nozzle is a bit clogged so the water stream is more of a dribble than a spray
The wifi is patchy, this is typical across the island and is relatively easy to live with.
Our stay was for 4 nights and the rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel was helpful in finding us a boat tour and also getting us information on when the baby turtles were being released. Overall a great place to stay even if a little expensive.
