El Cortecito Hotels, Punta Cana

"I stayed at Hotel Checkin El Cortecito for 7 days. Confusion around the name of the hotel to start with. It was originally called Green Coast Hotel...changed its name to Hotel Checkin El Cortecito...not to be confused with Hotel Checkin El Cortecito Beach!. Conversing in English was challenging...but with the help of a translation app everything I needed was taken care of with a smile. Delenny was ever so willing to help with anything i needed...she is a star. Breakfast was included...it was basic ...no frills. Tided me over 'till lunch. Accomodation was adequate...kinda "shabby chic without the chic" Walk to the beach was mentioned as 5,min(I was wary)..more like 10 but not a problem...hey...I'm on holiday! Housekeeping seemed to be on an "ask for it"system. Air conditioner wirked perfectly...television not at all...but i wouldnt have watched it anyway...i was toooo busy at the fabulous beaches all within walking distance...some not so easy to find...but...they are all attached. Fir the price and location...cant be beat!! Gotta catch my flight home"

"This place was clean and a good price. Right by the beach and the a/c worked very well, wifi seemed to work too, but I didn't use it a ton. However, it is definitely a bare-bones, budget option. I did not have hot water and only had a thin top sheet on my bed, which was not warm enough. I asked for a blanket, and was given another top sheet. Be aware that the restaurant next door has live music some nights, so it may be very loud until 10:30-11pm those evenings. If you go to bed early, this might not be the spot for you. As a place to stay for one night before checking into my airbnb, it was perfectly fine, but I personally wouldn't stay there for longer."

"I never seen a place like Cortecito Inn no hot water, broken toilet seat, broken faucet, dark hallway, saw cockroaches roaming around, smelly room. We’re supposed to stay 7 nights, can’t tolerate, we stayed only one day. No refund. What a nightmare!!"

"Es la definición de hotel barato, por lo menos tenía aire acondicionado, pero el desayuno no incluido y abre a las 8:30 ( la mayoría de actividades te pasan a buscar mucho más temprano), no te vienen a limpiar la habitación ni ha cambiar toallas, la mayoría de cosas sucias, no lo recomendamos."

"My experience at this hotel started when I arrived around 3:30 p.m. Although no other guests were waiting to check in before me, the process took about 50 minutes. The delay was due to my room key (room number 5) being lost. The receptionist was on his first day, and although he was confused and inexperienced, he genuinely tried his best to help. After about 50 minutes, I finally received my key and was able to enter my room, very tired and jetlagged, and I really needed to rest. However, I noticed that rooms 5 and 6 are right next to the bar, so you hear loud music and lots of noise when trying to sleep. The room was new and nicely designed, but it had one major problem: noise. There was loud music, and even after 10 p.m., people would gather outside and talk loudly. If you're sensitive to noise, I wouldn't recommend staying in these rooms. Another issue involved the bathroom products. On the first day, when I tried to wash my hands, I noticed the hand soap smelled strongly of alcohol and didn’t lather. I assumed it was a different type of soap that works like that. But the shampoo for showering was good, however, on the second day, when I wanted to shower, I noticed the same problem: the shampoo also smelled like alcohol and didn’t produce any lather. I stopped using it and went to the reception with my wet and unwashed body and hair. Luckily, the staff member who spoke English was there. I explained that the hand soap and shampoo seemed wrong. "Good value for the cost. Location is good and an easy walk to the beach and a few restaurants. It was my first time outside of a resort in the DR and this location felt safe"

"I had a great stay at Vista Sol Punta Cana. The renovated room upgrade was worth it, right in front of the beautiful beach. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food wasn’t amazing in general, but El Mariati and Teppanyaki Restaurant have a great food and awesome service. The spa was a highlight with great amenities, and Maria was amazing. She made me feel well taken care of. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable experience!"
