I enjoyed my stay at the Alexander guest house. For a cheap price for 2 nights in Edinburgh city, this was a perfect place to stay. The owner was friendly and helped with any issues I encountered. The other staff was also extremely helpful and helped me get back into my room after i locked my key inside in the middle of the night

Doors locked at check, 3 phone numbers to try, third I got a response, from a lady driving who said she would contact reception. Lady came then to let us in. Cobwebs in room. Not so cheap, but cheerful and convenient.

The property was very clean and beds were quite comfy. Very easy to get into the city centre with direct buses nearby. The only complaint was in our room the frame of the bed looked half finished and we were unable to find a switch for the side lamps.
