It's a grand old building - and some of the public areas downstairs are nicely done, and look great. Big and spacious reception/foyer and bar area as well (Didn't use the restaurant). The room was a good size, and a decent price - but as wih many of these big, old properties, it's worn & tired. It was cleaned well, and plenty of space.

We had the windowless room. We needed a twin room but we were shown a double room. The hotel staff were lovely and we were shown a twin room. It was hot but it had fans. Still, it was hot. The breakfast was very good and the staff were attentive. The maintenance staff were excellent too as the toilet was blocked but they were on it straight away. So, all in all, a very pleasant trip except for the heat but it was hot outside.

This was a decent hotel and lobby is lovely and modern but rooms are tired and a bit scruffy. not terrible but little things like odd broken tiles in the bathrooms and mould on the silicone. Reception staff adequate but not overly helpful. bar staff on the other hand were great and very accommodating. Great location for town and the Pier with lots of parking at the rear which is chargeable but not expensive. could be a great hotel with a bit of TLC and maybe some retraining for reception staff.

Good breakfast buffet. Room has seen better days, rather shabby. We were on the 4th floor which was very hot, but there was a good tower fan which cooled things down. The shower didn't work, but reception got someone to fix it at some speed. Only the bare minimum printed information in the room - fire precautions, but nothing about facilities, or breakfast times.

Couldn’t fault the staff who were friendly, efficient and attentive, but I’m afraid my stay was spoiled by the heat of the bedroom. There was a free standing air cooler provided, but this made no real difference. Perhaps the temperature of rooms ought to be monitored if these extreme temperatures are to be more frequent. The room shouldn’t have been available.

Lovely hotel, our room, although a little dated was a great size, large balcony, wonderful views. We had a full bathroom which was perfect and also plenty of tea, coffee and milk not like a lot of fancy hotels where you just get two milk cartons. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast had a good selection.

Lovely room with see view. Very warm lucky had fan to use. Staff very friendly. Only negative looked like carpet could do with a good vacuum in some places, round windows and along skirting boards. Breakfast was plentiful in lovely surroundings. All in all nice hotel to spend our anniversary.
