Aussen hui, innen pfui! Peinlich!!!
Hotel very run down. Dirty towel in bathroom. Parking not explained clearly enough so I got parking ticket. Breakfast good.

The single room I booked was spacious and came with a bath- the bed was comfortable. Overall the feel is dated, corridors are grubby looking and the bar was shut.

Convenient for the beach, pier and town centre.
Hotel staff were very good and helpful. Weekday self service breakfast was poor. It was a shame to see a hotel building like this in need of much TLC. Our bedroom had a broken window catch and flaking paint on the frames.
We didn't even get to stay in the hotel we booked. When we arrived we were told we'd been moved to a sister hotel up the street and should've been told. We weren't. So that meant dragging our cases 10 mins up the street after being dropped off.
On arrival at the new hotel, the staff were unapologetic, the wifi barely worked and the lift was out of order. All in all I would definitely not recommend at all.
While the hotel looks nice from the lobby/bar the rooms are in an awful state of disrepair. I think they spent the whole maintenance budget on the fancy carpet.
A week before we were due to stay here the management sent us a message saying they we’re moving us (not asking us) to their sister hotel down the road. I messaged them back but got no response.
The sister hotel (Albany) is very similar and a bit further along the road, in the opposite direction to the town centre.
You’d think after moving us they’d then make up for it by making sure we had a nice room. Nope! The room was falling to bits. Paint peeling off the walls and door, headboard so worn you could barely tell the original colour and much more. I didn’t stay in the room more than 2 minutes before heading back to reception. There was one other room which was better but still below what you’d expect from such an establishment.
The one good thing was the breakfast.
We've just got back from a lovely weekend stay at the Mansion lions! We had a sea view room overlooking the pier which is beautiful. The added photo was taken from our window! Comfy double bed, walk in shower and the only negative thing was the picture on the tv kept flickering, a booster arial needed maybe. But we weren't there to watch tv so it didn't matter. The sea view was amazing and totally recommend it. The staff are pleasant and very helpful. Made us feel welcome. We shall be back as we've tried a few reasonably priced hotels in Eastbourne and found this to be the best we've tried so far. 😍

Useless staff. rooms were very dirty electrical plugs hanging off the wall. curtains were dirty. The room was the size of a single room with a double bed. How old hotel was dilapidated and rundown. All the surfaces in our room from the towel rail to the top of wardrobe to the top of the TV had a layer of dust on it. My wife and I anniversary was almost ruined. Never again will my wife a i stay a lions Hotel.

Hotel in Standnähe
Körpermaßen (Umfang) hätten keinen gefallen an unserem Zimmer gehabt.
I can honestly say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. the room was cramped, the bathroom cleanliness was appalling, although the shower glass was clean the shower head and basin was filthy. I complained a number of times and this was only addressed by the third day. The food here was well below acceptable standard, on the second day ended up getting breakfast elsewhere, complained to the host but second serve was as bad as the first.
General, the hotel is noisy, few other adults in the hotel left many bored teenage exchange students running up and down corridors, joy riding in the list very infuriating.
to be fair to existing staff, they did not have enough colleagues to share the burden.
reception manned the small bar and other duties.
Easy check-in, polite staff throughout the hotel and exceptionally good value for the money we paid. Hotel a bit tired and in need of some updating (which we were aware of from other reviews, but we were ok with that because of the room rate). Breakfast was very good (although they'd run out of sausages on our first morning and yoghurts on the second morning). Parking was easy and cheap using hotel residents permit at £1 per day. Negatives; room key card constantly failed to work, bath tub taps leaked water all over bathroom floor, TV kept losing signal and cash only bar.

Quiet and comfortable hotel.
This hotel is 'tired', but is very quiet and pleasant. Very reasonably priced, especially regarding the great choice of breakfast items on offer.
I would recommend this hotel to family and friends...Well run hotel Staff are very friendly and helpful. When we stayed 10-13th September the hotel had 2 coach parties in and the restaurant staff coped really well..it was very busy as all the guests seem to arrive in the restaurant at 8.30 am. The staff were pushed as they are short staffed and they were Brilliant....plates ran out and replaced very quick. Waiters were very polite and responded very quick. A credit to the Hotel.
Our Room was overlooking the sea and it was Lovely to wake up to hear the sea....the view is beautiful you can see the Pier from our room and the Restaurant. When we arrived on Sunday afternoon the Band was playing at the Bandstand....we opened our window and could hear it from our room...while enjoying a Cup of tea. Hospitality tray was very welcomed. The Hairdyer in the room was excellent as i had forgotten to pack mine. Entertainment on Tuesday night was Lovely...enjoy a drink in the Lounge area. Lovely 4 days.

Okay
Our stay was ok but room very dated and needs a good paint and clean up
Fantastic location on seafront with pier and shops close by. Staff friendly and helpful. Optional set menu dinner good value. Rooms are comfortable with complimentary toiletries and generous hospitality pack.. Public areas in the hotel light and spacious. One thing to note - like most buildings of its age and design the seafront entrance has steps and inside there are several internal flights of stairs. This wasn't a problem for us but anyone with mobility issues would be advised to check with the hotel to ensure there is a room available to accommodate their needs.
