East Ocean View Hotels, Norfolk

"So to be fair this hotel has thw potential to be amazing. Location is right off the water but my rooms view was definitely obscured by a condo property although it was listed as having a "view". The property was clean and room was a nice size .. But trying to get service or communicate concerns was very hard. There's ni way to reach the front desk..even on the in room phones. It would ring and then hang up but when I went downstairs it was niy crowded or busy. They overcharged me for both valet and self parking on my first day and ive called multiple times trying to reach someone to help me but it would ring..put me in a queue for several minutes and then it would pick up and disconnect the call. While I was there I asked for my car qnd then waited outside for over 10 minutes without seeing my valet. When I went inside he apologized saying his phone had died so he did not see my request. He hastily went to retrieve my vehicle but 6his was just another frustrating thing to manage. The mini refrigerator had a plate screwed in that kept you from putting anything inside other than a bottle of water so my leftovers could not be refrigerated.. But outside of that it was a beautiful time away. If someone from corporate or the hotel sees this please reach out so I can resolve this charge"

"I recently stayed at the Moxy Virginia Beach location with my best friend and her family. The trip was planned last minute to celebrate my besties birthday and also her beginning an intensive cancer treatment immediately upon our return home. I told the front desk staff the reason for our stay and requested if they could help by setting up my friend's room to celebrate her birthday and her recent cancer battle. Meagan went above and beyond and set up her room with champagne, treats, and some decorations. This meant to world to my friend and really brightened up our stay. Meagan went up above and beyond and I hope this letter of acknowledgement is well received. She deserves whatever awards and accolades you all offer your employees. Something so every day like a celebration of a birthday was more of a celebration of life and that small gesture meant a lot. Thank you to Meagan and the entire Moxy staff you all did an amazing job to ensure we had an amazing stay. Looking forward to coming back in the future to celebrate again. "

"The room was nice, clean, modern. However…No buffet breakfast. Desk Phone didn’t work in my room. No ice machine on the 8th floor. One hour later (12pm) check out was an extra charge. No bellhop. Not many restaurants in walking distance. Disappointed."

"The very friendly and helpful staff make the stay! Balconies are semi private but hey you get to meet your neighbor. Indoor pool is heated but the heat could be turned up more. Fresh fruit water in the lobby! Comfy beds and soft towels. "

"We got into Virginia Beach about 1:30 after a 10 hours drive and just wanted to shower and sleep. The room that we where given was under construction the bathroom was a mess. We had to go back to check in. They had no more rooms 😕 in the process of him calling a manager i was looking for other accommodation for my family now its about 2:30am ( with a sleey 3 yr old) at this point the manager calls back and gives us another room . Wasted 2 hours but everything else was perfect. "

"I appreciated the greeting and professional help they gave my family and I as we got there. We walked through the hotel, abd it was beautiful. We will make this hotel “ our favorite one to stay”. Fell in love with the location, the view of the ocean, and the restaurant in the Hotel. Definitely coming back real soon"
