This place was hella charming. The antiques were placed so well in the room you felt like you were staying in a fancy a$$ gold miners hotel. If you are looking to travel back in time to the mid 1800's this is the place for you.
Terrific public swimming pool less than a mile away and it's all surrounded by the forest.
They offer a perfectly light and delicious complimentary breakfast, but also have more extensive breakfast options for sale.
I didn't ask, but it's probably haunted.
The Dutch Flat was so charming. Great food and staff and easy access to Tahoe ski resorts.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
We really enjoyed our stay here. Clean, cozy room, just what we were looking for between ski days. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed dinner right downstairs. We will definitely be back!
First, I booked via Expedia. I read an email from the hotel forwarded from Expedia but I failed to see there was an attachment. My bad. We arrived at the hotel around 5 pm. Everything was locked up. I called the hotel and was advised to use the keypad to open the building and again, once inside, to open our room. There was no staff on the premise. We thought we might be the only guests in the hotel but later bumped into a family staying on the floor above us. If I had opened the email attachment I would have been prepared for what we encountered. The person I called with when we arrived could not have been nicer. She even took the initiative to verify that the nearby Monte Vista Restaurant was open for dinner. The Blue Room (Big Four) was clean, had nice bathroom towels and amenities, and WiFi, the bed was comfortable. Once we got over the surprise of no staff, we got into the history of this 1852 gold rush relic and we began to really appreciate our gold rush adventure at the Dutch Flat Hotel.

The beds were comfortable, shower was hot, food was good. But the people above us were so loud, we almost left. Vintage hotel = thin walls, ceiling etc.
Great location, quiet, and roomy. Breakfast starts a bit late, if you plan on leaving in the morning like I did. And, there was not central heating, just a space heater and in wall heater. Would recommend for those who are crashing for the night and heading to Tahoe for skiing and snowboarding!
Really cool hotel, amazing breakfast. Very cozy, great for families with kids.
The furniture is a bit old and squeaky but it matches the style and overall great!
Nice Bed and Breakfast hotel. We stay here every year for our family get together in Alta. It’s quiet, rustic and I always enjoy the breakfast. The staff are pleasant and the place is clean. The price is reasonable.
This hotel is run more like a bed and breakfast. It was cozy, clean and very welcoming. The caretaker was so amazing. Thank you for the great stay. We will definitely stay here again.
One night stay to watch the end of the perseid meteor showers. Such a cute, cozy, quiet place to unplug. Heather was awesome and her breakfast was delicious!
Fantastic place, rich in history. Very well decorated and maintained. Comfortable bed and lots of places to sit on the porch and enjoy the quiet. Perfect for a weekend getaway. Great museum a 20-second walk away. recommended.
