Top Dungeness National Nature Reserve Hotel Reviews
Fog Signal Building, Dungeness by Bloom Stays - sleeps 2
8/10 Good
"We think this place is so amazing that we’re happy to overlook the minor flaws. Yes, it could certainly be cleaner—cups and bowls with lingering traces of dirt, a fridge that could use a refresh, and windows that need cleaning (as the grime slightly obscures that fantastic view)—but those are trivial details compared to the overall experience. We’ve visited twice now and hope to come back again and again. The sea right at your feet, the somewhat desolate landscape, eating at the Snack Shack, spotting foxes and rabbits—we love it all. Just be aware that you’ll be in the middle of nowhere; you’ll need the car for almost everything, and you won’t hear much besides the wind and the sea. If that’s exactly what you enjoy, then don’t hesitate—go!"
North Vat, by Bloom Stays - a coastal that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms
8/10 Good
"For a lovely house that overlooks the sea you would expect comfortable garden furniture to enjoy the views. Would have been nice to have extra crockery not just 6 of everything. Surprised beds did not have mattress protectors as mattresses were stained, particularly the front bedroom. Coffee machine leaked and two parts of the toaster did not work. Not all light switches worked either. Upstairs bathroom needed work where paint flaking. We use Boutique Retreats a lot and the house lacked their quality control. That being said we had a really lovely stay in a beautiful house. Would definitely stay again - thank you."
Coastguard Lookout by Bloom Stays, Dungeness - one of a kind!
10/10 Excellent
"UNIQUE AREA BUILDING.VERY WINDY WHEN I AS THERE WHICH HIGH LIGHTED SOME WINDOW FRAMES GETTING PAST THEIR BEST,ALSO,BEING VERY WARM & SUNNY,SOME BLINDS OR CURTAINS ON THE VERY LARGE (BUT ALSO VERY WELCOME) GROUND FLOOR KITCHEN/DINING AREA SECOND FLOOR SITTING ROOM WOULD HAVE CUT DOWN ON HEAT BUILD UP BEING BLINDED BY THE SUN (RARE SITUATION IN THIS COUNTRY ADMITTEDLY) BUT WHAT A LOVELY ROOM VIEWS!! (I FOUND OPENING THE DOOR ONTO THE FIRST BALCONY HELPED THE HEAT BUILD UP.) LOTS OF CUPBOARD DRAWER SPACE IN KITCHEN WHERE SOME PEOPLE MIGHT IT DIFFICULT TO REMEMBER WHERE THE VERY GOOD SELECTION OF KITCHEN WARE IS PLACED IF NOT STAYING THERE FOR LONG.A BLIND ON THE TOILET WINDOW WOULD ALSO BE A GOOD IDEA.TOILET/BATH LOCATION MAY NOT SUIT EVERY BODY. I WOULD RECOMMEND READING THE BOOK "DUNGENESS COASTAL ARCHITECTURE" WHICH TELLS THE STORY OF HOW THIS (TO ME) SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION CAME ABOUT. NO TV BUT HAD AN iMAC WHICH WASN'T MUCH USE FOR ME AS I COULDN'T EVEN FIND A WAY TO SWITCH IT ON! (PROBABLY AN AGE THING).I WANTED SOMEWHERE TO SPEND A "SIGNIFICANT" BIRTHDAY & THE COASTGUARD WATCH TOWER DIDN'T DISAPPOINT - I COULD VERY EASILY HAVE SPENT AN EXTRA NIGHT THERE,THE ONLY PROBLEM FOR ME WAS THE (AGAIN FOR ME) COST OF THE ACCOMMODATION BUT HAVING SAID THAT,FOR THIS SPECIAL OCCASION (& THE SEA VIEWS WHICH ARE TO DIE FOR) I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.THE BRITTANIA INN ROMNEY,HYTHE & DYMCHURCH RAILWAY STN ARE BOTH VERY CLOSE BY. THANKS!!"
Charming original fisherman’s cottage on Dungeness Beach
10/10 Excellent
"Delightful cottage with everything you could possibly need for a very relaxing break"
A fabulous Grade II listed converted 14th Century pub. Child and pet friendly
10/10 Excellent
"Exactly what we wanted, ideal space indoor and out for our party of 14 staying and another 6 on the day of our party arriving for the day only. Superbly well stocked glasses, crockery, general kitchen equipment etc etc, unlike most which always seem to have some obvious items missing. A characterful building in a pleasant, unassuming small town with a fine church and good beer in the local pub."
PS1, Dungeness - full of history, by Bloom Stays
8/10 Good
"We really enjoyed our stay at PS1. It’s a beautiful property with a wonderful and peaceful feeling of space and light and it’s in an incredibly interesting location. Frankly, we’d love to come back but would struggle to do that unless basic mattresses are purchased for the property. We tried all of the beds but they are all exceptionally uncomfortable."
Pass the Keys | Levante Coastal Cabin - Dungeness, Sleeps 2/3
8/10 Good
"Great place, so peaceful "
Pump Station by Bloom Stays in Dungeness - stunning location
10/10 Excellent
"We had the most wonderful stay in the Pump House which was even better in real life than in the photos. My son literally exclaimed as we walked in the door that this was the best house he’d ever been in. It was comfortable and luxurious and sitting look out at the shingle and the power station through the floor to ceiling windows is quite magical. It’s a very special place."
2 bedroom accommodation in Dungeness
10/10 Excellent
"We first visited Helvetia in 2018, Little has changed, other than improvements to the Sun Room. It's a nice place to stay for a short break away from it all."
