Nice hotel ,friendly staff , nice bar area and not extortionate bar prices . Only negative had the neighbours from hell absolutely inconsiderate residents but not hotels fault .

We stayed at this hotel on Saturday 13th April 2024. Firstly, there was an extremely loud birthday party going on at the hotel and because it’s only a small hotel the noise doesn’t have to travel very far to reach the rooms. It kept us awake until well after midnight, and when you have a 6 year old getting up early the next day that was not good at all. Secondly, the waste water from the shower wasn’t getting away so the shower base was filling up, this wouldn’t have been much of a problem if it were not for the leak coming out of the shower base and into the bathroom floor. The bathroom sink was also blocked. We couldn’t be moved to another room because the hotel was full, I really can’t understand why…. Then, when we complained about the horrible experience, they just ignore all correspondence and do not respond. In all, I think it is possibly the worst hotel in Scotland. Do NOT book!

The day before we arrived I phoned Reception as my wife would need gluten free bread for breakfast because of her diet, yes kitchen staff will be told. Friday morning at breakfast no gluten free bread no one new about it, the girl then went to the Co-op and got gluten free bread, Saturday morning no gluten free bread it had gone so the girl went and got gluten free rolls yes from the Co-op so not a nice start to both days as we were attending a family Funeral

Our room was a tight squeeze (4 of us). The sofa bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. The bathroom was very compact and sometimes I wonder if the staff have ever stayed in the rooms. If they did then they would notice: the toilet was in a poor location, the shower curtain made the shower tricky to use and of course stuck to your body, and the shower head didnt provide a great jet of water! Our breakfast was not included but we paid on arrival. On both mornings the staff member told us we hadn't paid and it was up to us to prove otherwise. These are the memories I take with me and the little things that could be changed would leave a much better impression.

Wee gem of a hotel.
The room was large and very nicely done. We had dinner which was very nice. I had the vegan choice which was lovely. The staff were all young but everyone was professional and friendly. This is our second trip here and if anything, it was even better.

This hotel was such a great find! We searching for a place to stay at the last minute for our family of 5, and we lucked out to find The Adamson. The family room was HUGE and fit all 5 of us comfortably. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was amazing! Super fancy, delicious food with a comfortable atmosphere - very welcoming. Never even knew Crossford existed, but this hotel actually made me want to go back there again. Highly recommend!

Good location for touring
Clean and comfortable hotel. Staff welcoming and friendly. Not too large with easy access. Good location for touring. Top Tip - short trip to railway station in Dunfermline. Free parking and £7 return to Edinburgh - bargain.

OK, but wouldn't go back
Location and friendliness of staff, restaurant - excellent. Breakfast - a bit limited but then you get what you pay for. Bed - OK. Shower - useless - couldn't get a decent flow going at all - leaked down the wall, taps on sink also leaked. There is, however, a lovely water feature on the roof where a 10 foot hot water fountain spews from a boiler overflow pipe...

We had a really pleasant stay. The price was excellent, breakfast was great. Only slight issue was our room at the back of the hotel. I had the window open as it was warm; my room was near the smoking area for the bar. Whilst not massively noisy, I could hear chatter quite late. Nevertheless we really enjoyed the 2 night break.
