"Loved staying here mostly because it is on a lake that is a birding hotspot. The staff is friendly and the rooms are big. Our room had a patio overlooking the lake. Lots of birds. Scenic. Housekeeping was friendly and helpful. They are remodeling so can’t wait to see the new look. Breakfast is OK. Nearby lots of restaurants and shopping and the National Park. "

"Check in seemed complicated. The gal at check in wasted more time with irrevelent comments making my checkin take way too long. She was unfocused and scattered. The rest of the stay was just ok. The hotel was fine, nothing fancy or elaborate. Casino was not great, smokey and losing slots."

"The house had patches of walls unpainted, it was missing oulet covers in both bedrooms, it was listed as having outdoor patio furniture which was not there. We left the apartment as instructed by the manual. Clean. Dishes cleaned an put away, used towles left on the bathroom floor, took the trash out. Yet they charged my insurance 500 for damages yet listed it as a deep cleaning. "

The house is spacious and has some lovely updates, while also keeping a lot of historic charm. The view of Lake Michigan is phenomenal. Chicago is even visible on a clear day. Very easy to walk down to the beach or get to hiking trails through the woods."

"This was the second most best up place I’ve ever stayed at in the USA. No elevator and no rooms available on the first floor so my back hurts from carrying my super heavy suitcase up the stairs. It barely passed the test as somewhere I would sleep as it had clean sheets and most things appeared to be wiped down, but the floors (although uncarpeted which I greatly prefer as it avoids terrible odors etc)were pretty nasty with all kinds of smudges, scrapes, goobery stuff, the walls were disgusting and looked like they hadn’t been painted/refinished in decades, the hallways were disgusting carpet, the office chair had dozens of multicolored blotches, scratches etc etc…the list goes on. It was the cheapest hotel with ratings above 7.0 (it was right at 7.0) which is why I chose to stay there but I think I’d prefer to spend $25 more for a better hotel. I will mention that there was a huge dumpster in the parking lot which might mean they’re finally renovating something but my room was certainly not one of them as of yet."
