"Spa facilities are very small but the treatments are excellent.
Food is abysmal, disappointing and overpriced. Bar is limited with few non alcoholic options and appalling non alcoholic cocktails.
All the staff are friendly and helpful but have their work cut out for them in a tired hotel past its best. There are signs of half-completed basic renovations and worn, tired carpets.

"The communication with the owner, Jake was superb! Any questions were quickly answered and Jake was always available for help. The cottage was spotless, beds are better than my own! Lovely quiet enclosed courtyard, entertainment options were great and suited my 3 and 5 year old, mother and myself. "Apologies to the knights rest, but we didn't actually stay there. I booked it on the day for 2 nights through hotels.com. However ten minutes before arriving at our destination the hotel rang me to say that they were closed and on holiday themselves. They apoligised and said hotels.com should have checked their diary and not booked any rooms out. They would be putting in a complaint via Expedia. Have since tried to contact hotels.com to be constantly told by a virtual agent to hang tight,...

Comfortable, spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean.
Excellent communication with owners.
Large, secure garden/outside space so perfect if you are travelling with furry friends.

"We feel so lucky to have found this place to stay in while down one Somerset. The house has everything that you need from a Nespresso machine to dressing gowns in the bedroom and amazing wood to burn and keep you warm. Not to mention the secret garden! Wendy and Ewen were both exceptionally helpful before, during and after our visit. We will hopefully be back!"
