"Very relaxing with all the amenities you would need. Such a quiet surrounding, no traffic noise. Wonderful views over the valley shared with hundreds of pheasants coming out the woods every morning. Woke up to deer, squirrels, birds of prey etc. very comfortable bed, I loved just sitting on the decking listening to the wildlife. Only negatives was it stated a wheelbarrow in car park area to take baggage to hut but it was not there. Also the lovely large shower head did not work, only the handset worked but was fine. I made a couple repairs myself to a tap handle as it was very loose and the cafetière handle was about to fall off so tightened that too. The lounge chairs are ok but not very comfy, personally I would have a small 2 seater sofa instead. Apart from that a really nicely set up shepards hut."

"We had a lovely family break. The house was in a lovely quiet location. With lovely view. It had everything you need. It was comfortable and cosy. The hot tub was lovely addition and in a private area."

"Jane was amazing she made our visit feel like we were visiting a family member. She even offered to pick things up from town if we needed anything. Lots of parking just don’t leave doors open or you’ll get a chicken hitching a ride. Kitchen well equipped and home was spotless, I’d be concerned about the stairs for young children or elderly as very very steep with narrow steps. WiFi very hit and miss but we get that at home in a city so I’m not surprised in such a rural setting. I panicked one day while exploring thought there were lots of dead sheep at side of road, but they were just chilling, not something we see in a city so found it very amusing. I would certainly recommend the cottage lovely location, very friendly neighbours, who stopped for a chat and say hello to our two dogs as they were passing."

"A well appointed - but well lived in home. A number of fittings feel rather dated, and kitchen and dining space rather cramped even for 4 adults and 2 children. Beds were incredibly soft and pillows also could do we with a refresh. Overall a comfortable stay, and the ability to access the forest from your doorstep is a definite bonus - however you do feel you are staying in someone else's home, rather than a guest house of similar bookable venue."

"The Barn coped easily with our party of fourteen of ages ranging from 12 to 86. The accommodation is spacious and well provisioned and the facilities excellent. Thoroughly recommended."

"Absolutely fabulous stay! All of us loved it…beautifully appointed apartment, but for us the garden made it…surprised that the pups even came home with us, they mentioned squatting and never leaving! 😂"

"We stayed in both properties for a family celebration. The houses were large, extremely clean and had everything we needed. With lovely walks on the doorstep, a couple of decent pubs within walking distance and other walks just a short drive away. This was an excellent base to discover the Forest of Dean."
