Never disappoints!

I have stayed at Fernwood Manor for many years and the standards are always excellent. The staff are so helpful - nothing is too much trouble for them. Breakfast is legendary and always freshly cooked. The gardens are immaculate and the poll - devine. I cannot recommend it highly enough !

Fernwood Manor is wonderful. Clean, well decorated, quiet, and well heated/cooled. Staff are professional and helpful. Breakfast is prepared for you. Best of all, it is a short walk from one of the best, if not the best, botanical garden, Kirstenbosch. August and September are months with amazing blooms.

A great stay at Fernwood Manor after a gap of a few years. There are new owners who have maintained the standards of the previous owners. Fernwood Manor breakfast remains amazing and cooked to order. The garden and pool area is beautifully maintained and so relaxing. I will most definitely be back.

We picked this property for its location (close to family) and the previous positive reviews. We were not disappointed! In fact so impressed that after a visit to Northern Cape we had no hesitation in re-booking for remaining part of our holiday! Breakfast was excellent. Bed was very comfortable for a good night sleep Cavendish shopping centre a short Uber ride away. Staff friendly and professional and very helpful. The decor is elegant and tasteful. Our room 9 on our second stay was amazing. So much space! I would highly recommend staying at Fernwood Manor.

We chose Fernwood mainly for the location and because of the justifyingly glowing reviews and picturesque property. The plan, on our last day in Cape Town, was to rise early, enjoy a fabulous breakfast at Fernwood, go to nearby Kirstenbosch Gardens in the morning and have lunch at the Chefs Table, all before hoping on a direct flight back to NYC that evening. Our plans were dashed when at 7am we learned our flight was cancelled and we had to scramble for alternative flight plans. All this to say that Jane and the staff at Fernwood went out of their way to help us during our hectic dilemma by allowing us to take over their office space, use their office computer and then kindly bring us tea as we spent the better part of an hour and a half sorting everything out. We then helped ourselves to their scrumptious buffet (sadly did not have time for the complete breakfast) as we rushed out the door to make use of our last hours in amazing Cape Town. Fernwood is lovely, the room and beds were comfortable and well appointed and the staff can’t be beat. We hope to be back again someday.

Located just minutes away from kirstenbosch garden, this property is in an excellent location. Very quiet and yet only a short drive from all the main sights cape town has to offer. The suite we had was very spacious and very comfortable. Lots of privacy with a separate entrance. The age of the property does show a little however. That’s not bad per se as it does add to the “old school” character. It was a good options for us having booked fairly last minute and got a very reasonable rate.

Second visit to this excellent guesthouse near to Newlands set in a quiet road with beautiful garden. Close to M3 with easy access to city and to the south. Only a few minutes to Kirstenbosch Gardens. Stayed in a two bedroom family room which was very comfortable. Superb breakfast served by the excellent staff in beautiful surroundings which are lovingly maintained inside and out. To be recommended.

Excellent guesthouse. Location is superb, in Newlands which is a lovely residential area, with views of the table mountain range. Pool and garden area excellent. Facilities and comfort of room also excellent. Breakfast was also excellent. Lots of restaurants within a five/ten minute drive. Can only recommend.
