We have rated this stay a 4 instead of a 5 and it really would have been a 5 apart from the security at the gate....confused and grumpy are the only word to describe it. Apart from that the accommodation is perfect for a stay very near shopping and for wonderful facilities. The place was very clean....and modern with our own balcony. Be prepared for the cheerful and helpful staff on the front desk...they were wonderful and would go out of their way to help. Thanks for a great stay and we would visit again.

My wife and I opted to stay at an Island Club for the Christmas period, however, due to it usual regular hotel (Marriot) being fully booked, we opted for Island Club. Unfortunately I must express that whilst the staff were friendly, the rooms were never cleaned to hotel standard, the breakfast area is extremely poor and lack space. There is also no restroom facility in the buffet area, so guests are forced to go up to their rooms if they require that. Lastly the maintenance of our room was very poor.

The apartment I rented could have been a little more cleaner. Television didn’t work properly, dryer did not work in apartment. The owner of the property could benefit from taking a visit and upgrading. I would not recommend the apartment. However each and every staff person was phenomenal.

Overall was our stay nice and pleasant

The hotel's location is superb - it has the right amount of distance from the busy city centrum (10 minutes with a Uber). The location provides nice walking areas along the canal and a great shopping mall. You feel very safe. The service was good and friendly in both the restaurant and reception. Gary that picked us up at the airport was sweet and informative. Pick-up was chaotic due to lack of communication, we waited for 30 minutes before we finally found each other. The hotel needs to be specific on location and be aware of the lack of connection for foreigners. We came early, so they offered us breakfast - but did not inform us it would cost extra (we prepaid for other days). We did arrange a tour through the hotel - we got another guide, not friendly, came late, didn't fill up gas beforehand, wanted us to pay for it, drove WAY TOO fast, did NOT comply with traffic rules, and wanted a higher price upon payment. The hotel should NOT have him with guests again. We booked a suite, but it is just a bigger room. Great view though. Maintenance in the room caused us to have no hot water for a whole day, needed to shower in another room. Had to call/write notes for extra shampoo/coffee. There is load-shedding 3 times per day, which means no power or light. It is the government's decision, but a hotel should tell you this beforehand or have a generator for their guests. My mom felt and got badly injured because of the lack of lightning around the hotel.

We were disappointed with the hotel overall. Access to our room was difficult, across a cobbled square and through a dirty basement car park. Our room had been made up with clean linen and towels but the condition of the room overall was very poor and well below what we would have expected of a four star. The room had obviously just been painted as the paint smell was overwhelming. The sliding doors onto the terrace (also very dirty) were very difficult to open and close because of all the sand and dirt in the rails. We ended up having to leave these open all night to avoid being overwhelmed by the smell of fresh paint. This also meant that all we could hear was the sound of the giant airconditioning systems on the roof of the shopping center across the square. The floors were sticky in both the bedroom and the bathroom and did not feel or look clean. We ended up wearing shoes or socks everywhere we walked in the room which was more than a little unpleasant. Much of the furniture in the rooms was in very poor condition. Specifically the seating. Both chairs in the room were not clean. The soft desk chair was particularly unclean and heavily soiled. At check out we did mention some of the many issues we expereince with the room and were met with a shrug and a prompt goodbye. We would NOT recommend this establishment. There are significantly better and more cost effective options in and around Century City.

A jewel in the city

We had a comfortable stay. Although the reception area is tiny and not conducive for visits from clients or friends. However the easy walk across the Canal to the world class shopping mall makes all the difference. I would highly recommend

Warm, friendly and comfortable family Holiday

We enjoyed a 9 day family holiday with 11 family members ranging from 3 - 72 years old. The warm friendly and always accommodating staff always ensured we comfortable , well fed together with advising and guiding us with days trips and tours. We had outstanding service from Aquila at reception, Ntobela at breakfast and Dominic in management. They together with the team arranged a wheechair for mom, special /halaal breakfast option and even travel b/fast pack for our early hours departure. Island hotel is well located for Canal walk shopping and food court access as well as centrally located in Cape Town for driving to all tourist spots and areas. We will definitely return here for our next holiday in Cape Town.

Only hotel I can find in Cape Town with a proper on-site 25m laned swimming pool. Also reasonable gym. Reception staff and management excellent. Room cleaning excellent. Definitely secure and safe area.

Very efficient check in process. Room was spacious. Room had in-room coffee/Nespresso machine. Comfortable bed and couch in the family room. Checkin agent was very helpful... advising of amenities, short cut to adjacent mall. Very quiet and discreet. Good security.

Awesomely beautiful

Comfortable hotel in century city . Staffs are friendly with quick service. Location is super excellent within a minute to big shopping center. Environment around the hotel is also fantastic . Almost 15 minutes drive to the water front by Uber taxi.

Het hotel heeft een veilige parkeergelegenheid en fijne faciliteiten. Het fijnste is dat het een veilige voetgangersbrug heeft naar het naastgelegen winkelcentrum. Daardoor kun je gemakkelijk 's avonds wat gaan eten (keuze ruimschoots voorhanden) en nog wat winkelen of naar de bioscoop.

Diese Unterkunft hat gerade mal, wenn überhaut 1* verdient. Das Hotel verfügt über keinen Generator der bei Stromausfall einspringen kann. Somit steht man im dunklen und das 5 Tage hintereinander 2 mal täglich für mehrere Stunden. Der Pool verfügt über keine Liegemöglichkeite. Das ( Früstücksrestaurant ) bietete exat jeden Tag das selbe an. Ein Restaurant oder eine Bar gibt es ebenfalls nicht. Der Balkon wurde nur auf nachfragen gesäubert. Kurz um wollen sie 4* gehen sie 150 meter weiter ins Cape Town Marriott Hotel Chrystal Towers.
