"Online reviews are always interesting to read because the only people that leave reviews either absolutely loved their experience or they have a large complaint. For anyone thinking of the Finest in Playa Mujeres, I would say the following: the hotel is great for kids. It is spacious enough so it’s never crowded, plenty of things to do, and options to eat and drink. The restaurants are fine- fun variety in theory but in reality, the food is just fine. They are not flying in Tapas chefs from Spain or sushi chefs from Japan so you get pretty standard hotel food. That being said, the food at the buffet is great. And the variety is very enjoyable. The resort does not always run super smooth- many of the hot tubs were broken, some employees are more helpful than others, etc. - but in general it’s a fantastic place. It’s clean, well kept, and peaceful. The beach (at the end of December) was not over run with seaweed and on the days when the wind wasn’t blowing, the water was beautiful. Kids club was great, shows were fun, taco truck was a cool option. Top notch place. Expensive? Yes. But worth it. "

"This hotel is a WOW! The entire resort is amazing from the beautiful room (fully stocked with drinks, beer, water and snacks everyday and they did a second cleaning, closed the drapes, and left a little treat every night) to the pool and beach area. The staff was always SO friendly, helpful, and quick with anything needed. So many pools and jacuzzi. The beach bar with the swings was our favorite and we had pizza every day for lunch (so yummy). We were always able to get chairs on the beach. We also enjoyed the obstacle course and kayaks. Unfortunately the water wasn't clear enough to snorkel on sight but it was warm! We did snorkel with an excursion we booked from the beach- HIGHLY recommend! THe shopping and carousel was a fun treat. We did go the magic show- the entire family enjoyed it!!! Only one complaint. We had a party of 8. When we checked in we were told there were NO reservations available for the entire week. This was pretty upsetting. We travel a lot and have never had to make dinner reservations in advance. We did end eatting at the sports bar most nights- no resrevation needed and we all loved the sushi! We did break away from our group and got to try the steak restaurant and mexican for lunch one of the days. Such a fabulous resort and amazing vacation!! Ps. weather was AMAZING (just a little windy) and NO bugs!! Oh and the hammock on the patio was the icing on the cake!"

"The location is absolutely unmatched, rooms are steps away from the Caribbean ocean. The views are absolutely spectacular. Amenities and activities are minutes away from ferry rides to Isla Mujares, boat club, downtown etc. There is even a water park to kid the kiddos occupied. The resort itself is on per with resorts in it's class. I will say that this was our second trip to Cancun. The food in this resort is much more flavorful and authentic compared to other resort. It is an older building, but the rooms are spacious (we stayed in a family suite), plenty of room for us. Our room opened up to the beach which was amazing. The guests in this resort were mostly families and a very international crowd. "
