"Stunning property with beautiful views. Very quiet area! House was very clean and the garden was beautiful . We did not have a car , but Diego helped us communicate with the local taxi service. Taxi took us into the town of Barga when we needed and picked us up ! Diego was also very quick to respond and willing to help out with anything we needed . Great experience. Thank you !"

"The house was very clean, comfortable and spacious and we never tired of the superlative views across the valley. Diego and his dad are lovely and always available when needed. If I was to suggest an improvement, it would be a little more kitchen equipment - there was no sharp knife for cooking, no collander, few wine glasses and an oven tray that didn’t fit the oven. A small point that did not detract from a great week in a stand out property. Highly recommended!"

"We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully appointed and comfortable house that easily accommodated the six of us. Paulo (the owner) could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The local town is a short ten minute walk through the woods where there are options for eating, drinking and shopping. We had an electric car (EV) and were pleased to find charging options within walking distance. Thanks to Paulo and family for facilitating such a lovely two week stay."

"Montate provided everything we needed for a very relaxing stay in Tuscany. Splendid isolation, wonderful views, amazing pool and comfortable villa. We enjoyed the drive to and from the villa and Barga (after a few runs) was only a 15min drive away for all shopping and eating out essentials. We took the trian to Lucca and Pisa to avoid parking. "we were there for almost three weeks and really enjoyed it. The owner is very friendly and happy to help with any questions. However, you should know that the nearest shops can only be reached by car, since the house is very quiet and secluded. you also have to drive to go out in the evening. But we really enjoyed the rest, everything was fine for us!"

Coming from America it was a bit of a shock (especially for my kids) to walk into a home that was built in the 1500’s and feel comfortable, although you could tell it was well maintained and clean but it took them one night to feel at home. "The views from this property are absolutely breathtaking! While the property is not near any major sights, it is peaceful and beautiful. Fernanda was very responsive to my questions and her husband assisted us in guiding us around the area to point out places to eat and shop with. "We stayed here for one week , from September 9th-16th. When we arrived the owner greeted us, as we were slightly early. He was extremely helpful and the property/views were truly amazing. We could not fault our stay at this property, the weather also helped as it was sunny and warm everyday. Well worth a visit. Locally there are restaurants with amazing food, the owner has a list of recommendations. We particularly enjoyed the restaurant Il Pozzo in one of the local towns"
