"We book the Majestic for one night as they had over 8+ on Expedia. Well, we arrived at reception. All went well until we were told the lift is out of action and being repaired. Which we later found out is the same story they have been telling guests for months. The very small room was embarrassing. A hole in the wall, electric socket not working, disgusting unwashed curtains, peeling paint everywhere, cracked sink, mould all over the shower head, broken wardrobe. The only plus was the bed...

"I had a "newer" room at the back of the hotel overlooking my favourite pub, the Beau Nash Tavern. The room was comfortable, clean, quiet, and well-appointed. As a new room it was shoe-horned into the existing property so getting to my room was pretty funny as the path from the front desk to it was convoluted in an entertaining sort of way (people enjoyed the video on my Instagram!). I had dinner and breakfast in the dining room, both were excellent too. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I would stay here again."

"Quick overnight stay, hotel well placed for Sunday afternoon on the Pier and close to the Congress Theatre for my evening concert, likewist 15 odd min walk from Eastbourne Train Station, Stff very helpful, bed room reasonale size with large bathroom (with bath). Coffee/ tea etc in room. Room nice and warm overnight (didn't try T.V. but used the fridge). Will definately book there again if a concert comes up."

"The hotel’s location was excellent, right in the town centre and next to the sea. The staff were also very friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was very good, with a great choice of both hot and continental options. The room was spacious and a good size, but unfortunately, it was not well maintained. It looked like the room had not been decorated or properly maintained for quite some time and would definitely benefit from some refurbishment. The bathroom was one of the highlights, as it was spacious and had both a bathtub and a shower, giving you the option of either. Although the hotel is rated as a 4-star hotel, based on my experience, I would rate it closer to 3 stars. The excellent location, friendly staff, good breakfast and spacious bathroom were all positives, but the overall condition and maintenance of the room let the hotel down."
