Where to start. I booked the place for one night on a business trip at the last minute. My rationale was based on price alone and that was the first mistake.
The booking on Hotels, was easy. However, the need to pay a refundable security deposit of nearly three times the room cost was a bit of a shock.
The room was clean, that is the only good thing I can say.
The photos are very misleading. On the surface it looks like a lovely old Edwardian house, in reality that is derelict, the accommodation is in a modern single storey side extension.
The room while clean was incredibly basic. The heating was jammed on full blast and it was like a sauna in there, if it was 30°C it was a miracle.
The room looked out over an overgrown garden and the window locks were broken, meaning despite room doors having locks, the room was still insecure.
There are no staff on site so getting any real time support is impossible.
I have stayed in some grim places in the past, but this is the grimmest by far.
