We chose this hotel as it was convenient for visiting a family member who lives round the corner, otherwise we would have booked elsewhere. The bedding in the room was clean but old and the pillows were really lumpy. Communal areas were not very clean and the lift was out of action for most of our stay. Staff were ok, typical Berlin grumpiness but we're used to that. I wouldnt recommend this hotel and wouldn't stay here again. You get what you pay for I supppse!

The picture used in the add looks nothing like the actual hotel rooms. The sink was clogged, wifi kept going off, extremely loud.

The room was clean however the curtains were dirty and did not cover the full window. The area around is very dirty. It is close to the S and U trains. Saturday night very loud music played until 4.30 in the morning. A friend stayed at Melia Berlin for a little more so next time we will stay there.

Room was dirty and scruffy. Room was not as shown on site . Scaffolding being erected outside windoew with noise form it’s construction starting at 7 am . Staff were unhelpful . Awful place

Great location, but hotel really needs a re-fit
Travelled to Berlin at a time with very hot weather. Air conditioning simply did not work at this hotel and it was extremely uncomfortable. Location of the hotel is really good if you like bohemian/hipster culture. It's close to an S-Bahn station, and a short walk from the East Side Gallery. Area just North of the hotel, within a 5 minute walk, is really cool, with lots of restaurants to choose and cafes. Most of the eateries cater to trending diets such as vegan or vegetarian.

The room was quite small but enough for what suited me. there was no AC, and while keeping the windows open was quite nice, it was a bit loud. Breakfast for 12 euro was a bit pricey for what was offered, and 7 euro would be more fair.

Liked how close it was to the main station. You can spot it from a mile away. The staff were really friendly, was kind enough to even allow me to check in early. Really good hotel, highly recommended

The hotel was very nice clean the staff bent over backwards to help. Nice garden area to sit in the peace and quiet at the back of the hotel. but if you are looking for a quiet night sleep there is a karaoke bar right across the road at weekends and goes till about 5 o’clock in the morning. Other than that would definitely stay there again.

Arrived early, they trued to allow check in, but rooms wees till being cleaned, but they allowed us to leave our bags in a locked room. Rooms were spacious, the curtains great for blocking out the day light, the surrounding area was very busy day and night, so the double glazing was great. Beds were very comfy. Rooms however were hot with no air con. The small fridge didnt work, but we're ugfed in, so releasing more heat into the room :( Breakfast however was outstanding. Cereals, pastries, fruit and yoghurt. Eggs, potatoes, Sausages, Cheeses, meats, bread, jams, honey. Fruit juice and coffee. Amazing

Great location.
Perfect location for the Astra club where we were for a gig. Short walk to loads of bars and restaurants in one direction and 2 mins from the main S-Bahn and U-Bahn.

The hotel was nice but some major problems caused hardly any sleep..the air con wasn't working and Berlin was 32c. Couldn't open the windows though as it was far too noisy outside. Needs air con in this place, wouldn't have booked if we knew there wasn't any. The price was £275 for 2 nights. Really expensive

The publicity is completely inaccurate, the bar facilities hopeless after 10.30, there is no food on the premies after breakfast although it advertises room service, there was a smell of drains. But it was cheap.

Just the Job
The Hotel Klassik was clean and well presented and excellent value for money. the rooms were warm and clean and maid service was daily . To the east of the city and with M10 tram stop outside the door giving access to the East Side Gallery (Berlin Wall ) and Stasi Museum within 10 minutes. Warschauer Strasser Station is 300 meters away giving access to both the S bahn and U bahn which made access to all other attractions a short 30 minute trip (max) from the Klassik. Our longest wait for any mode of transport was only five minutes and the busses, trams and trains being clean, quiet and punctual. We would definitely stay at the Klassik again and would also recommend pre purchase of a "Berlin Welcome Card" in our case at Tegel airport , paying 35 euros each for our four days of unlimited public transport it is well worth the money and no stress of buying and endorsing individual tickets for individual trips - just keep it handy for inspection

Sleepless Nights
The hotel was air-conditioned however there was no air -con in my room and the temperature was very hot. An oscillating fan was provided but it was noisey and didn't do anything to cool the room down. The room style seemed dated. The curtains were not large enough to cover the windows. Half the appliances did not work. The room safe was locked closed and unable to be used. I did not even bother trying to turn on the old TV. The bathroom was clean, tidy and most functional. The shower had great pressure but was very hard getting a warm temperature, it was either freezing cold or piping hot. Wifi in my room was very poor, the signal was weak so connection dropped out constantly. However the wifi worked quite well in the reception area so it was certainly available if needed. The neighbourhood did not seem the nicest, dark streets lots of graffiti and a few unsavoury looking groups. There is a clubbing area directly opposite the hotel along with other bars very near. My sleep over the two nights was non existent. The first night it was far too hot in the room, even with the fan working all night. The second night I additionally opened all the windows which helped a little with the heat however produced a noise problem. My room was on the first floor, next to the road, next to a pub and only a stone throw from the club's over the road. Luckily I had some earplugs in my luggage however no hotel should give you a need to use earplugs! Breakfast was quite good.
