The property is very quaint. We were impressed with the historical stories that our host , Alain, told us. His English is good and he was very warm and receptive to our needs. We got upgraded to a charming clean room and treated to a lovely breakfast that was beautifully laid out. You can tell Alain has pride of ownership and loves hosting. We definitely would recommend this place to our family and friends. Many thanks to Alain!

Definitely recommended
Alain is a wonderful host and staying in his home was one of the highlights of our trip. It was so interesting discussing the history of his lovely home, amongst other topics. The room was comfortable with a view of the Loire, and breakfast more than sufficient. We were able to park our car securely. Such a pleasant experience compared with the anonymity of hotels.

This is a lovely bed-and-breakfast place. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we stayed an extra night. The host, Alain, is super nice, friendly, helpful, and also a great person to talk to. He also gave us several great suggestions about places to visit, all spot on. The breakfast is quite elegant, with freshly baked baguettes, croissants, and other beads from the local bakery. We definitely plan to come back there!

Great stopover near Giverny.
Really enjoyed our one night stay here. Alain was friendly and welcoming and very helpful regarding local information. House is interesting, nice to stay somewhere with character rather than a bland hotel chain. Nice breakfast before our drive home. Great place to stay if visiting Giverny. Many thanks!

Tranquility
I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it for those who like the non generic hotel chain alternatives. Alain was a great host and his home has a historical twist to it which I found very interesting. Very peaceful rest after a long drive. Breakfast was traditional and delicious.

I liked our Japanese styled room and ensuite overlooking a shady courtyard in which we could put our car off road. Quiet and peaceful setting next to the Seine. Our hosts made our stay very comfortable with a lovely continental breakfast using their handmade crockery. We would go again.

We will return!
We spent two nights at this property in order to visit Giverny. Alain was an excellent host, providing us with detailed references to Monet and his connections to Bennecourt, and upon request further information about places to visit on our return to Le Havre. The room was comfortable and we slept well. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast thoughtfully served on tasteful china, and in all our stay was delightful. Now thinking of a reason to return! Thank you Alain.

Host was very friendly and the house has a interesting connection to Monet that I will let be a surprise. There isn’t public transport to Bennecourt so you will need a car or you will be walking a very long way or paying for a taxi. The room was clean and comfortable and a nice little breakfast can be requested.

The property is very charming and has a special connection with Monet. Also the breakfast was delicious and beautifully served. The host is amazing. He gave us many great suggestions about where to eat, places to visit and how to make our visit to Giverny optimal. A memorable experience overall!

We don't do B&Bs. Glad we made an exception. The owner Alain was most gracious, accommodating and charming. Also, he has an historical anecdote that I will not spoil here. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Very friendly and helpful host, speaks very good English and was more than patient and encouraging with my desire to speak french. Lovely breakfast, comfortable room and bed, spacious bathroom. Private parking is a plus. Wifi was very good. And oh so convenient to Giverny, with excellent driving directions from the host. Also, walking distance to a boulangerie that serves sandiches. And, a good recommendation for restaurant at the town just across the river Seine.

Dear Anonymous, Without any comments, your mark is useless. It doesn't help me to improve anything and can't help anyone to reject or prefer my place comparing to another, specially because the other one are very good (and with comments). Furthermore, I would have prefered to hear them in live, directly but franchise and sincerity are obviously not your main qualities. In fact, I wonder why such mark can be accepted without comments, they should be blocked. Alain, the owner of this lovely property greeted us. He provided exceptional information about the towns of Bettencourt and Giverny. We had a lovely breakfast and the accommodations were clean and pleasant. The living room environment and the outside patio area are very inviting. We had an excellent time. I would recommend this property to any couple or adults traveling to this area.

Charming character chambre d'hote
Our host was very engaging, interesting and full of knowledge about the area. He was personable and very friendly and warm. Alain is an artisan potter who is enthusiastic to share his art form. It would be a great experiential week-end for someone who would like to learn pottery. A character house built in 1789, decorated in eclectic style, is comfortable and charming. Bathrooms are nicely up-dated to modern standards. We were served a delicious traditional French breakfast in elegant style with the benefit of a crackling fireplace in the dining room. Recommended a superb restaurant for our evening meal.

A gorgeous little gem of a hotel run by a lovely family. The room was clean, comfortable and quirky with a view over the river. Parking was free and in a secure courtyard. We shared a home cooked 3 course dinner with the family who were great hosts and great company at the same time. My partner is a picky eater and he ate every bite. The owner told us the story of the house and it's links to Monet and the Impressionists. He also offered advice on tickets for local attractions and was happy to recommend local restaurants if we had chosen not to eat dinner in the hotel. Although there were guests in the room next door we couldn't hear a thing and the building was peaceful and quiet. We had a great sleep and a leisurely breakfast. The entire stay felt like we were visiting the home of friends. I hope we manage to return here one day.

Visit to Giverny
We spent 2 nights at the Le Havre de Bennecourt because we wanted to spend a day at Monet's house and garden in Giverny. The location was very convenient as it was an 8 minute drive to Giverny. The Bennecourt was unexpectedly charming. It is a house built in the late 1700's just after the French Revoultion. Our room had a view of the Seine River. Our host, Allan, greeted us on arrival, carried our luggage up stairs, advised us on a local restaurant that was excellent, served us a good French breakfast, and parked our car (I'm not used to a manual transmission) in his courtyard. He also showed us a reproduction of a Monet painting the had the B&B in the background (the original is in Chicago). Our room was clean, had a comfortable bed, and a nice shower. We will return when our travels bring us back to the area.
