This is an exceptional place to stay. My husband and I have stayed in a lot of places around the world and this is a standout. The service is personalised, welcoming and friendly. Cartagena is an amazing place to visit and this boutique hotel is a sanctuary within the beautiful walled city. Everything from breakfast to the amazing drinks they serve to the dinner and beyond this place has been the highlight of our 4 week South American trip.

Sofitel Barú Cartagena exceeded every expectation and truly felt like a 5‑star Caribbean retreat. The hotel was stunning but the staff really made the stay better. They were all so friendly and willing to help with any questions we had. The food at the restaurant was also delicious. Highly recommend!

Excellent location, beautiful and comfortable rooms, great service. Could hear the loud music from bar nextdoor. However, I didn't have issues sleeping.

This hotel is just amazing. The place has so much history! It is a beautiful hotel. The staff was amazing. We went to 1621 restaurant and it is just brilliant. Loved it and will be back.
