The room itself is basic but clean and functional. Sadly, it’s very noisy if you have a room facing the main road. I was on the 2nd floor and heard nothing but traffic, shouting from passers by and sirens all night, every night. If you’re a light sleeper or not used to city noises, that’s not ideal. There was also a small cockroach in the bathroom was, while I appreciate they’re everywhere, wasn’t pleasant. Otherwise, the hotel is in a great location and the staff are all great.

The hotel is pretty overpriced for the level of accommodations. Would not book again. The location was good though and right next to metro station. Easy to get around. Other than that I can’t recommend it.

Great stay

Ideal location right in the center, steps away from airport bus and La Rambla. Front desk woman that checked us in was super nice. Room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Beautiful view of the city.

Lovely!

Great spot, right off Plaza de Catalunya. Great connections for trains, walkable to tourist attractions and the Gothic Quarter. Hotel itself was clean, modern, and felt comfortable. Room was of a good size, clean, and with good facilities.

Great location easy to walk everywhere in the Gothic Quarter, easy to checkin and check-out. I would say beware of the AC though. We went when the weather was in the 70s (F) and we opened the windows and got a really pleasant breeze all day. But the AC was not what one gets in the States, it was quite faint even at full power and it is centrally controlled by the front desk staff. So I would hesitate to recommend this location in the hotter summer days. Staff was helpful and kind, and it was nice to get daily room service.

This hotel is overrated as 4 stars. The location is great and the rooms are clean. However, there is no coffeemaker in the room. The nightstands are so tiny. The windows are not soundproof. Our room was on the street side and we could hear the street noise all night. They have very bad service. When my husband asked for an extra blanket he was told to pick it up from the front desk. This is unheard of. Do not stay at this hotel. It is overrated and overpriced.

Good location but unhealthy heating system

I booked my room through hotels.com and saw good reviews. The location is very central and some staff are polite. However, I was allocated a tiny room on the 7th floor with only a small window facing an interior patio. The room had some vents that were constantly pushing very hot air into the room. The air conditioning was not working because is winter and there was NO AIR coming in from outside, since this was an interior patio - only smell from nearby restaurant kitchens came in, but no air. I explained that the room was very hot, but I was denied 'an upgrade' and was told by the receptionist in the afternoon that I got what I paid for. When I came back in the evening I was sweating and feeling sick, with a headache due to the heat. The lady downstairs explained that this is the system they have, it is either very hot or cold, they cannot regulate it and neither can the guests, because the room was very small and interior, the effect was more intense, turning my room into a sauna/oven with 25 degrees at one point. I went to reception and said I had to sleep in the lobby because I would asphyxiate in that room. She eventually offered me a room on the first floor, with no heating at all, which was actually pleasant in comparison. I eventually got to sleep at 3am. I would avoid this place unless they change the heating system.
