Not even a kettle.
Stress from the start. Travelling to the property we get a message, problem with my credit card. They may cancel the booking. They ask for another credit card. Expedia insists do not supply further credit card details, hotel is saying if we don't supply new cc details they may cancel the booking. Bit of an inconvenience when we are in the high speed train coming from Madrid. Hotel gave us until 6pm to arrive. We ran with suitcase to get there just in time. I told them that I was bringing cash anyway.
We arrived, paid cash for the stay (2 nights). They demanded 300 Euros deposit (in case we broke a cup I guess) this had to be paid by credit card in Euros. The last thing I want is to go back to England with 300 Euros credited to my credit card. Cash apparently was not acceptable.
On to the room...
Very dusty and dirty - actually upon check in we heard people complaining that their room was not clean - so obviously it wasn't just us. I had the pull out bed which had plenty of hair on it. I haven't suffered from Asthma for 20 years but the dust on the floor brought it back on.
No kettle, no bowl for cereal. How this place gets high ranking reviews I really don't know.
Staff - fine. Location fine. Amenities bad and low quality. It was cold in the room. Turned on the radiators, they didn't work. The room overhead air/con heating seemed to have a dial that went from 5C to 15C. We turned it to the heat setting but it just made a wind noise but without heat.
