"To be a Marriott property, I expected more from Trailborn Grand Canyon, Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy. I arrived around 7:50 PM when it was already dark. The driveway is one-way, and I missed the entrance the first time because there was not enough clear signage, so I had to drive all the way around due to the one-way street. There is also no clearly designated check-in parking area. Since it was late, parking was very limited and most of the available spots were handicap spaces. At check-in, the staff member greeted me and asked for the reservation name, but then directed me to an iPad to basically complete the check-in process myself. You have to enter all your information, including your vehicle make, model, and license plate just to park in the already small parking lot. The rooms are very simple for a Marriott-branded property and lacked extra amenities. The beds are extremely soft — if you sit on the edge, you almost feel like you could slide off. Towels were limited, and the sink area is very small and located outside the bathroom. The sink also drained poorly and water would get stuck. The shower head cannot be adjusted, and basic items like shower caps were not provided. The TV system is heavily restricted and difficult to use. You cannot mirror your phone or easily stream apps from your device. The curtains were also awkward to operate and required playing with the strings just to close them properly. If you stay on the first floor, you can clearly hear"

"We got the one queen bed. Upon entering the room, we noticed it was smaller than the usual rooms we’re used to but had what we needed; cold a/c, fridge, two nightstands, even a Samsung tv. It had plenty of outlets for our electronic devices along with a coffee maker. The room was very clean, sheets and towels too. The mattress and pillows were somewhat thin but it got the job done. Bathroom was twice as big as your normal hotel bathroom which was nice. Water pressure wasn’t that great but again, it did the job. Overall, it was a nice stay and was fairly quiet besides the train horn which was my favorite part. Plenty of parking, friendly staff, close to gift shops and loads of places to eat."

"The room was great. Between the mini fridge and microwave in a separate little sitting area we’d definitely stay again if it weren’t for the breakfast. Two trays of soggy limp sausages and no eggs was disappointing. The coffee could use some work as well. Bread for toast and soggy English muffins but no bagels. I’d give the rooms 5 stars and the breakfast 2."

"This boutique hotel is in a great location right downtown! It is an older building so don’t expect spit-spot clean. The staff was welcoming. The common areas are well appointed and inviting but our personal room was extremely small without even a closet, and amenities were a bit lacking. The breakfast was described as a pastry breakfast, and offered a variety of crumbcakes and sweet roll. It was a fun experience."
