The best area to stay in Alix is in the heart of the village, around the main square.

This central area offers a quaint and peaceful setting, typical of a small French village. You'll find a few local shops and the village church here, creating a pleasant, unhurried atmosphere. It's a great spot for those looking to experience genuine village life.

For couples seeking a quiet retreat, staying in the village centre is ideal. You can enjoy strolls through the lanes, dine at a local eatery, and easily access the surrounding vineyards for tastings.

The best time to visit Alix is during the late spring to early autumn months, specifically from May to September, when the weather is most pleasant for exploring the region.

May and June offer mild temperatures and fewer crowds, making it an excellent time for those who enjoy hiking or cycling through the Beaujolais vineyards. The countryside is lush and green, and the grapevines are just beginning to flourish.

For visitors interested in the grape harvest, September is an ideal time. While it can be a bit busier, you'll experience the excitement of the "vendanges" and have opportunities to see the winemaking process firsthand.
