"The housekeeping unit is as described: fully equipped, queen bed was very comfortable, there was a modern washing machine right in the unit. You walk outside to idyllic rural scenery. Edwardo is very friendly. He uses his smart phone/Google maps to help with directions and answer any question you have. The town, Santillana Del Mar and the Altamira Museum are a short drive away. We enjoyed our stay!"

"The Palación de Toñaneswas one of the most unforgettable hotels we have ever stayed in. A 300-year-old farmhouse made from cut store - even the doorways were chiselled from stone. Add matching furniture and it was like living in a period house. The gardens are extensive and immaculate. Lods of area for kids to play and a securely fenced swimming area. The Hotel is surrounded by working farms with cattle, deer, horses, goats, chickens and rabbits. A little piece of paradise. Yes, you can touch...

"Beautiful hotel, very clean. Unfortunately not the best welcome, we were locked in the hotel for 50 mins by a random guy. No lights on. No instructions on how to access the key. We found the phone number and was able to call the hotelier who gave us instructions. There was no hotel phone to call though which was a pain too as we had to borrow one. We were ignored at breakfast, we weren't sure if we should sit ourselves or wait to be seated. After waiting a short while we sat ourselves as it was...

"From start to finish customer service excellent. Room decor shower bathroom mini fridge slippers and robes complimentary water and cleaning every day if needed. Free extended checkout for one hour and 10 euro pr hr after that. Massive help. Close to restaurants bars shops ice cream parlours excellent bus service to take you to city centre and towns for €1.30 each way. Taxis and ranks on hand. €6 euro to puerto chico next town full of eateries bars and by harbour. Only downfall of hotel is no pool and not a great menu in restaurant and bit of an odour so never ate there. Has a gym and salons and specialised delicatessan next door. "
