"Room condition"
We booked this hotel thinking we would get a decentvsized room with a view considering we opted for an upgraded in our room according to the room photos on their web site. We in fact were given a small room in a shabby condition with a limited view. Typical of British service of show them the best we have have in the hotel and give then the worst and see if they complain. We debated whether the bathroom or wardrobe was bigger internally the bathroom won as we could tak 3 steps before hitting a wall rather than two in the wardrobe. Being 6.2 I could not use the toilet without resting me feet on the bathedge.... Very strange....shower head too low.... Shower curtain 15 inches from the wall. My shoulders 17 inches so I had to soak ifvthevroom was ok but dated. Everything outside of public areas was poor and in desperate need of renovation. Pool area very good on of the reasons for choosing this hotel. Breaskfast adequate. Location great. Parking very limited. Overall we felt cheated by the website room photos. We wanted and paid for a a higher rate room but received a standard b&b room. Won't stay here again or advise anyone to if the want a better than the rest experience. Hotel told they had preferential agreement with a taxi company but they were more expensive that taxi rank. WHY LIE...

"Nice hotel but not at standards expected"
Having stayed at this property a few times, overall it is a nice property. The staff are generally friendly. However, the rooms can be disappointingly small and the small things regarding housekeeping lacking. For example, the shower had mildew showing and the glass in need of better cleaning. Also, although our bed was made, our sheets were not changed. For the price and advert of high end hotel, I expect more. When I queried the front desk about room size the woman was indifferent even though the hotel was clearly not full. The bar staff were very nice in contrast to the lacking front staff. For my American friends please note that king size bed in UK is just a queen size in US size. If you expect a real king make sure to get a super king.

Three night stay at the hotel for a birthday celebration. Hotel was pleasant and had lovely views from the front. We were in room 8 which was on second floor with a sea view. View was beautiful and awoke to an amazing sunrise over the sea on my birthday. Headroom was definitely limited to one side of the bed which they do mention. I am only small and found it a little difficult at times. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice although I had to send my cooked breakfast back on second day as it was only luke warm and I didn't appreciate being asked if I wanted it warmed up or a new one!! Waiting staff in the morning were a little surly. Dinner in restaurant on second night was superb. Jo was very helpful with menu for my allergies and had the best fish we ate while away (better than the best fish restaurant in Torquay!) Overall a pleasant stay although if you want somewhere where you can walk to bars/places to eat then this doesn't fit the bill.

"Warm welcome"
From a preliminary emai looking forward to my arrival and a warm friendly greeting when I arrived, to a follow-up email hoping | had a good journey home, my overnight stay was most heart-warming and personal. The room was clean and presentable and the bathroom spotlessly clean. The breakfast in the morning was perfectly cooked. I certainly hope to stay here again when I am in the area.
