"Friendly welcoming staff"
The reception, leisure/spa & bar staff were amazing helpful friendly, but what a let down when it came to breakfast. We were seated but not once we're we asked if we needed anything specific, I did ask for gluten free bread on the first morning & had to advise them to toast it separately from the normal bread the staff looked at me in a very disconcertive way, they eventually took the gf bread back into the kitchen to toast it as I am a celiac & i told them this. By the 3rd morning the breakfast supervisor hadnt asked us for tea/coffee we had to ask for tea & received it after the 3rd request, what a shame.

"Really nice character hotel close to the centre "
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and have always had a very pleasant stay. The room on this occasion was slightly small but perfectly ample. I ate in the restaurant with clients and we all had an excellent meal

"Modernity meets History"
Superb old fashioned courtesy combine with luxurious room facilities which make this long established hotel the best 5 star in Exeter. I was given a premium view out to the city's beautiful mediaeval cathedral overlooking the Cathedral green. The cooked breakfast was faultless and the discounted rate at around £60 made the entire Sunday night a pleasure. I walked to the superb local art house cinema - the Picture House in 5 minutes and indulged in a cream tea in the cafe opposite. It made my professorial visit to Exeter University very special.

" Hotel Wellsway 26 April 2016"
Located only a 10 minute walk from the Promenade along a flat area. When we arrived it was as if Nick and Pat were welcoming us back. They helped with our luggage and after a short chat and explaining the security took us to our room showing us the facilities. There was everything we would have expected in a 5* hotel room. The room was absolutely immaculate. Early season and some rooms were unoccupied and the doors open. Every one was to the same high spec. Breakfast had so many choices and did not disappoint, making it an excellent start to our day. We only had one night but will certainly return to The Wellsway on our next visit to the area. Thanks for making our stay enjoyable. Ian and Lynda Ogden

"Ok hotel "
Clean and comfortable rooms but the walls seem paper thin. We could hear conversations of people in next bedroom and in room above. Could also hear people using the toilet in room above! BUT the food and service in the golf club Terrace Restaurant was excellent and really saved the day!

"Lovely place to stay"
We had a family room on the top floor and it was wonderful. We have two children and they had their own beds on each side of the room which they loved because the beds were in hidden areas of the room which meant they could have their own space. Shower and toilet room was bright and beautiful and very up to date. Torquay is a really lovely place the guest house is only 10 min walk to the bay and next time I visit I will definitely come back to stay there. The family are lovely and made us feel very welcome. What a lovely place to end the day! The food is great and they even have their own bar downstairs. Big thanks from all of us, we really enjoyed our stay

"Very convenient for the town and buses"
I had an accident whilst there and broke my ankle. The staff can't have been more helpful. The meals in the hotel were very good too. The accident didn't take place at the hotel!

Bayards Cove Inn - Dartmouth Hotels

Bayards Cove Inn

"A very welcoming hotel"
The plus points about Bayards Cove Inn are its location right in the heart of things and its young, enthusiastic and very welcoming staff. The minus points are the lack of parking facilities (which applies to all hotels in the area) and the stairs from the bar to the bedrooms which are a little on the steep side for an older person. However, a key is provided for a back entrance which, due to the steep terrain, enters at first floor level so it's not too much of an inconvenience. Our room (Beatty) was comfortable and immaculately clean and we had the benefit of a window which overlooked Lower Street so we could watch the comings and goings! Breakfast was good and there is an evening menu but as a bonus the hotel is surrounded by must visit restaurants all within a few minutes walk. As mentioned above, the location is ideal.
