"Loved everything about this hotel. From arriving at the gate house 5o departing 2 days later, we loved it. We will return. Great location, great service and great food, this really is a special place. If youre going to the Lake District, then this is the place to stay."

"Lovely room with great views. Good location in town. Very nice staff. Nobody helped with the cases from the car on arrival. They need valet parking. Earlier check in than 4pm as most hotels are 3pm. Also most good hotels have Umbrellas at reception. The positives outweighed the negatives but room for improvement."

"The hotel is lovely, quirky with lots to look at. Lovely gardens. We were there 2 days for a wedding and had a wonderful time. The staff were great especially Alan on the bar. Breakfast was good. Our room was 201 and it was quite unusual but a bit dark, not good for putting on makeup. It definitely needs a light over a mirror. The wooden cladding although adding character darkens the room. "

"I was greeted by Jenny when I arrived at the hotel. She was very polite and friendly even though I did not follow the check-in guidelines which was to call the property 24-hours prior to arrival. On top of that I arrived to the property later than I expected due to never disappointing train travel delays. To my surprise, I was even given a room upgrade as I booked four nights. 😉 The room was clean, and neatly made. It had a view of the big lake which was bonus. Long story short, I would recommend staying here. The property is also a stones throw to some good restaurants, pubs, post office, bus access points, and of course the Bowness Pier. "
