"This is essentially a pole barn, and I assume it was once used as one, as indicated by the slight farm smell inside. The fact it's wide open is NOT a negative it's nice having room to move around, and the sleeping arrangements just work. Nobody (5) of us bothered the other while sleeping or staying up later than the rest. It worked out great. "I made a booking on the wotif site and paid in full for a non refundable room., the property would have received notification of my booking and payment. At 8pm on the day of check-in, out of courtesy I rang the property to let them know, I am in Tokoroa and on my way over. The owner said, "Sorry but I have closed my business down and you can't stay here" So that was pretty bad that they had a live listing, selling rooms, taking money but not in business.
