Not impressed with Howard
I think Howard Jonhson;s needs to pay more attention to what the housekeepers are wearing. Change their bedspreads more offen. And be more awhere of the happening at night( like people yelling at each other outside their doors) Find a new pastery provider!
Neighbourhood recommendations: Lake Corinado, Was beautiful the houses and the surrounding area are nice and very neat.

old and dingy
hotel was old and dingy looking bathroom door would not close all the way, staff was more intersted in talking to each other than helping sign in

There are better options
I chose this hotel based on low price and range of amenities, including fridge/micro, wireless internet, and central location. While it had all those things, i found myself extremely disappointed. The overall feeling of the place was that it was unclean. The towels and sheets felt liked they may have been swished in water, but it was as if no soap was used. I just wanted to be far away from my hotel room. The TV was extremely old and had such terrible quality picture it hurt my eyes and I didnt want to use it. One of the days someone forgot to clean my room, and when i got back from work there was no one available to clean. The first night I heard a bunch of profanity and commotion from other guests, made me feel unsafe. In general I just wanted my 3 nights here to be over. I understand this is a budget hotel, but I've stayed at similar budget hotels that were much better than this. This place is extremely neglected. I would not recommend it. If I hadn't had a nonrefundable rate, I would have switched to one of the many other hotels on the same street. The positives were ample parking, decently stocked continental breakfast, and easy access to freeways. The sticking point was definitely lack of cleanliness.
