Kamenoi Hotel Atami
3.0 star property
8.2 out of 10, Very good, (286)
"Our family visited Atami during New Year and literally checked in on New Year Eve! The staff were super welcoming and helpful. We actually went to the wrong hotel building at check in, and they immediately sent a pick-up for us to get to the correct building. The meals included in our hotel package were all buffet, and the food was amazing! There was a very wide variety of choices. You can even enjoy the ocean view during breakfast if the balcony (and shower) in your room is not enough for you...

"If I could give more than 5 stars I would! The staff are so friendly and accommodating! It is a little out of the way but the hotel provides a free shuttle to and from the train station and a free hourly shuttle to the nearby town which is absolutely fabulous. The grounds are just beautiful and the view from the room is honestly better than any other vantage point we could find. Thank you so so much!"

"Extremely beautiful and wonderful spot to go to. Not a lot of food immediately around, but take a bus over to the station and you'll find a lot. Sadly not 5-stars because expedia markets this hotel for 2-6 people per room, but when you book a room, it only does so for 2, and on arrival you have to pay to have the other 4 stay as well. "

"One of the best stays I've had. From the instant we walked down the drive the team were there to welcome us in, get us checked in and seen to our room. The room itself was nicely laid out and seemed very traditional in set up, I enjoyed the fact the place was many years old traditional house and it was very peaceful both in stay and rest. The food both during dinner and breakfast was impecable and offered a taste of Japanese cuisine across many courses. They also have a vegan option and our...

"The property is a little bit away from the train station and up the hill, but shuttle is provided between 1 and 5 pm every day for pickup. We arrived later, and decided to walk despite being given the option to have them pick us up by request. Checkin was simple and straightforward, we were given instructions on paper and in English. The hotel is a little older, but meticulously maintained cleanliness made up for it. We stayed only one night, and were pleasantly surprised that “half-board”...

"Hotel is very close to the ropeway and offers a shuttle bus to the main station which you really do need. Bedding arrangement is hard as a rock so be aware of that. The hotel itself is very dated and no especially clean. However I found that part of the old school charm. The included meals were absolutely outstanding traditional kaiseki style. Worth the price for that alone. "

"I would love to rate Matsuzakaya Honten more than 5 stars, 10000 stars for our time here. It was the highlight of our trip. One of the most magical days I have ever seen when we arrived in the pouring rain. It is tucked away in the mountains, peaceful, relaxing, and beautiful. The staff are wonderful and I loved making friends with Suzuki and our server. They are all kind people who make you feel welcome! The baths are all beautiful and the food exquisite. "An hotel in the style of a traditional Ryokan, absolutely everything about Mikawaya was exceptional. The decor, rooms, public onsen, meals and staff were amazing. Although it is a little out of the way and up an incline, there are multiple frequent transport options and even a shuttle bus which can take you back and forth from Gora Station. When it was chucking it down with rain this was very convenient. The room was very spacious, comfortable and had all the amenities you could want. The...
