"Super clean historic house converted to a really nice, informal hotel. They offer breakfast and have a bar for drinks. Central location and friendly staff. Easy to get to restaurants, shops, pubs and public transport. Not sure about parking as we travelled by train. The property has no lift to the upper floors, but reception staff will help with luggage, and you can ring reception from the room. Robust WiFi signal, air con and windows that actually open. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Complimentary drink at the bar on the first evening. Cheers!"

"The only bad thing was the bedroom unit at the back of the lovely big White House front was shabby and dirty outside. It needed cleaning or painting. One male member of the household team was rude and quite happily let two sets of doors shut in our faces. Charming! Everything else and everyone else was fab. "
